A lot of the joy Diagrid chases with her everyday efforts stems from the fact that she loved being happy. It turned her playful and affectionate, something her boyfriend encouraged.

Well, until Diagrid got to the point where her adoring kisses knocked Blurr's mask clean off. Then he would roll his eyes and haughtily stalk away to "re-compose" himself. Naturally, Diagrid loved doing this and tried to get that response from Blurr as much as possible.

Blurr kinda wants to whack his girlfriend in the face for that, so he does. Gently. On the lips. With his lips.

Blurr kisses Diagrid. What a ******* enabler.

Why was he even doing this? His...husband told him to be somebody. To be himself, not what he was just told to be. And now look at him! Sold off as fodder, worth only the treasure that changed claws between dragons who never knew him. How was that better than listening to what he was told?

He wishes he could have been something pure. Something....better, better than the ghostly specter he appears to be.

But now, wishes are hopeless, and he is forced to fight. An endless fight.

He takes a deep breath.

Despite everything, in spite of everything, he made a promise. He promised to be a good sire, a good warrior. He had said he would fight for his new lair, no matter where it may be. He would support them, in whatever way he could. Even though this work is anathema to everything he holds - held dear. He promised.

...and he is not a liar. By the gods, he is not a liar.
