Biography
From a family so loved by the sun that their scales became orange
An angry storm roils above a small orange dragon hidden in a tree hollow. She shivers weakly, it's been days since she's been able to catch any food. At least her current hiding spot should protect her through the storm.
Six days before, she had awoken to her clan's panicked screams piercing through the night. "We're under attack!' She thought. Suddenly her mother Beroya rushes into the room. Sunkissed feels relief to see her, the attack can't be that bad.
"Mama, what happened?" Her small voice squeaks out.
"There is no time, little one." The queen says, pulling Sunkissed to the window. She pulls open the curtain and throws her daughter out. "Fly, my little sunset. Fly far. Never come back."
The ground is looming closer, the little dragon was too stunned to open her wings until the queen had fastened the shutters. When she flew back up to peek in, she saw her mother struggling against a looming Guardian, clad in vicious looking armor. The Guardian's great claw came down against Sunkissed's mother, queen Beroya. Blood landed on the glass where the small dragon had been, but she was already gone. Her wings were already taking her as far as they could, away from the struggle taking place in her home.
Now her frail body was at it's limit, barely able to shiver as the storm above raged. She heard large footsteps approaching her hiding spot. This is it, she thought. I couldn't run far enough.
The large green eyes of a wind dragon peered in, and she braced for her fate.
By the time the storm had abated, Sunkissed found herself warm and full in the Grasswhistle clan hall. Suzerain, the wildclaw that found her, had lured her with beetles and herbs until she would follow him.
She was introduced briefly to the clan leader, Sollie, who scoffed at her savior. "Another one?" The Guardian asked, and peered down at the scrawny trembling Sunkissed.
The Wildclaw dropped a bundle at Sollie's feet, enough food to feed an army.
The leader sighed, and waved away Suzerain and his newest adoptee. "Fine. She can stay with the others."
