Keeper is an island in a sea of idiocy. Day after day, her clanmates barge into her lair, nursing some new and horrifying injury. It is not merely the volume that baffles her. No, it is the sheer awfulness of the wounds, infections, and (sweet Tidelord) infestations she has had to deal with. Keeper is a creature of refinement, a highborn soul robed in grace and beauty. She should spend her days on silken cushions with claws dancing over a tarot set. Instead, she is constantly overwhelmed with draconic overflow, oafish drakes bearing marks that make her feathers curl with revulsion. As she works, she Sees, and whispers words of prophecy in her patients’ ears. Cancel tomorrow’s hunting trip. It will go poorly. But do they listen? No. Tomorrow they’ll return, flanks marred with yet another injury. Tonight she will be as she ought, robed in fine silks, wise dragons pricking their ears forward to catch her every word. Today she works the medical overflow. Keeper sighs and looks forward to the night.
