Biography

Post-Flight-The Fallen

He trudged steadily onwards, seeing the world he’d only seen what felt like lifetimes before. How much has changed; while he wouldn’t describe it as bad, he couldn’t help but feel those memories lay under a certain haze of foolish nostalgia. It’s not that it would fit the typical cry of ‘times were simpler’, but more of a wistful acceptance of the truth he’d been turning his eye from. It made this journey inevitable, even if the reasoning behind it was changed just ever so slightly.

It was the best chance he had at fixing the world, and maybe, regaining a family. Of course, that makes it all seem to simple, and wasn’t exactly indicative of the events that led to this moment, but it’s the way he feels.

Yes. There’s solace in knowing he isn’t the first of his kind of make this kind of journey, and many likely make it alone, as he is. The rogue, ‘insidious’ organization that has named themselves ‘FL/GHT’ must be found. His allegiance already lies with them, even if they don’t know it. But how to find them? Where to go? Investigating can only go so far before one starts to bring unwanted attention to them, and as he’s still in rather good condition, wouldn’t they be just as likely to believe him still loyal to Project? The rumors of violent androids is abounding, so he wouldn’t find any help from normal dragons. He has his words, his memory, and a drive. Those will have to be enough.

He doesn’t care to dwell on these issues for long; let the problems come to him as they may, and he will deal with them as they become prominent. As he crunched over stone and rising dust, he went back over his memory files; something for more precious, and delicate. He must keep them clean, polished, and bright. Without them, there’s much less of a cause to fight for, after all…

Post-Project: Magitech

From behind the glass of the container, they could hear dim words piercing through. Though, unlike the usual sales pitch from the employees, this is a new voice; gushing, excited, and rambling. The android pays it little heed until they realize it’s before them, and a claw rests on the glass, shortly followed by a skydancer’s face being squished up on the glass, grinning at them for a moment before pulling away. A few more words are exchanged before the glass hisses away, and they are released from their packaging. A sudden pulse of electricity reactivates their circuitry, and they obediently crouch down and step out, whirring gently as they take in their surroundings with renewed clarity.

“Look at this! Sublime! Utterly incredible! Look at how lifelike-why, the movements! Oh, just look, wouldn’t believe it myself if I weren’t here!” The skydancer’s voice registered fully into their system, and while emotion wasn’t exactly coded into them, they had little trouble distinguishing the dragon’s excitement in contrast to the employee’s rather restrained posture.

“Yes, a shining example of what Project is capable of. You are sure this is the one you want, sir?” Polite, clipped, paperwork in hand, the fae ushered the skydancer to sign.

“Oh, yes, I liked this one as soon as I saw them, yes-here, I sign? Yes, very good. Wonderful!”

“Project appreciates your patronage. I’ll escort you out shall I?”

“Yes, yes, thank you! Yes, Project is just amazing, aren’t they? How do they do it, do you know? And such a wide variety! Why-“

Ah. The android sets after them, registering the skydancer now as ‘Owner’. Knowing they’re not meant to respond, they wait to be called upon, tuning their conversation out. The building they’re in is massive, owing to the cargo it holds; a new line of Project’s androids, the cutting edge of magic-to-electric energy technology. The latest sales pitch crackled over the speakers. “Tired of the same old spires clouding your horizon? Weary of hiring others to set up your lightning rods? Overwhelmed with magical energy? Project has you covered! Thanks to our hardworking scientists, we now have the ability to convert magical energy into a more widely accessible electrical energy! And now, with our latest invention, we have our line of ECAA—Energy Conversion Anywhere Androids! They’re portable! Stylish—coming with the popular Constellation wings, so you can have the night sky with you wherever you go! And they require minimal maintenance—once it’s set up in a magic rich environment, it powers itself and anything you hook it up to!” A demonstration was going on in the middle of the building, where two ECAA units had their oversized wings up and in the power gathering display.

The glimmer of light ahead marked the exit, though ECAA0053 had to stoop to leave without damaging anything. Here, the fae retreated back inside with another expression of thanks, and a reminder of how to care for the android. The skydancer turned his grin and gaze to ECAA0053 reaching over to pat their claws. “Ah, at last! We’re to head home now. Very pleased to make your acquaintance, my good fellow! And what name do you go by?”

“I was officially designated ECAA0053, though this is customizable to your taste, sir.” They knew the script, and, were a little excited to finally be able to use it. With a real dragon no less, not just the Project scientists.

The face their owner made at that wasn’t one of any kind of joy, and he admitted, “Dearie me, I’m no good with naming. But no worries! We’ll find a name for you I’m sure. Your current one doesn’t quite roll off the tongue does it?”

Figuring the question was rhetorical, ECAA0053 made no reply, and after a polite cough, their owner went on. “Er-hem, I don’t suppose I have a name that you call me by? That’s also customizable, is it not?”

“Of course.”

“And that is…?”

“You are my Owner, though I am sure that isn’t your name.”

“Ah, yes, simple and safe. Well, for the moment, designate me as ‘Idabotshi’ if you would! Though you may form nicknames at your leisure, so long as they aren’t offensive. And, I hope you don’t mind talking with me—oh, your voice is incredible for someone who’s artificial! It’s simply sublime. Terrific! Besides, talking will make the walk home that much faster. Did you know, we have a boat for the last leg of our journey? I’ll wager you haven’t been on a boat ever! Let’s hope it’s Zadkiel, the crew of the Druscus are a bit dodgy, you know…”

[Wip, will be adding more as I get the chance!]

Ampere is joining FL/GHT in the stead of his owner, Idabotshi, and his companion, Wikky. Ida would join the cause himself, but between his declining health and his family, Amphere knows he has too much to lose. Aside from that, with Unity on the rise, Ampere knows that if he stays with Ida, he'll put them in danger; the only logical conclusion, then, is to leave, and continue the fight where it's taking place. That, and having old memories of his time within Project that he's tried to forget and detach himself from, made his decision to join FL/GHT inevitable.

While Ampere goes to great lengths to hide his emotions from dragons, his time with Ida and Wikky have loosened him up, and he's capable of moods of gaiety, enjoying making others feel at peace and befriending anything that moves. He's taken the role of being an older brother to heart (though he was always meant to be the younger one) and will fight for anyone who has been wronged. Due to his overly large wings, however, his physical capabilities are limited; instead, he draws on using magic to defend and attack. At least, that's what he theorizes he'd have to do; having never been in a real fight, he's not sure what to expect. He'd feel much more at home among the Medical wing of FL/GHT, as he's learned any amount of engineering from Ida and Wikky, and with his programming, he's capable of powering any tool they create for immediate testing.
