Biography
Meadow grew up in the wetlands surrounding a major dragon clan. Her mother had chosen to leave the crowded, noisy clan behind to enjoy the bounty of nature. She taught Meadow the secrets of the plants and animals that surrounded their home. When Meadow was old enough to care for herself, her mother told her that she was entrusting the care and keeping of the swamp to her, and left to find a new place to protect.
Meadow didn’t think she would be lonely at first. After all, she has dozens of friendly critters to keep her company. But after a while, Meadow realized that she needed to share all of the magic and wonder of this strange world with someone. She didn’t dare go too near the lair of the nearby clan, but she spent many days near the outskirts, trying to convince herself to say hello to the other dragons she saw.
That’s when she met Agate- well, saw Agate. The dragon with wings like autumn leaves spent much of her time in the forest with quill and parchment and seemed constantly delighted by each discovery she made. It took Meadow over a week to even risk getting close, and another week after that to place herself in a spot that she knew Agate frequented.
From there, however, a friendship blossomed, even as Agate went on to school. Agate would spend hours in Meadow’s treehouse home, helping her care for her pets and connecting the science she was studying to the magic Meadow practiced.
