INFORMATION AND BACKGROUND
Long ago, a group of botanists ventured into the Shrieking Wilds…”
They had heard of a new plant growth, an invasive species that someone may have tracked from another clan. The Shrieking Wilds was a place that dragons didn’t want to be in for long. It’s dark, close knit, full of plants, and you’ll get lost easily if you don’t have knowledge of the area.
The team was venturing closer to the heart of the Wilds before they found the plant. It was classified as a fern, and they dug it up to take a sample. Passing the fern to one of the younger botanists to hold onto, they set out to set up camp in a small clearing. As they approached, they noticed the youngest botanist had started sneezing, almost as if they had smelled too many flowers. Sending him off to clear his nose, the rest had put it into a glass case and had started to list its characteristics.
The botanist hadn’t returned until nightfall, and when he did, he seemed like he was in pain. Checking him over, they couldn’t find any scratches or thorns stuck anywhere, so they abandoned the fern to look after him.
They began to notice changes in themselves after a few days as well. Small pains all over their bodies that evolved into a stronger, more painful feeling. They decided to abandon their camp and head back home until they could find the cause of these pains.
They were quarantined when they returned home, and the clan could see that something was wrong with them. They were always in pain and the youngest seemed to be losing his grip on reality. The rest had taken to covering themselves with leaves or blossoms that seemed to become apart of them. An examination of the blossoms concluded that they were growing from under their scales. Soon, they were released from quarantine after they seemed like they weren’t infectious. At this time it was winter, since the team had gone out in the late fall.
The youngest had disappeared shortly after being released, but others noticed that he had changed dramatically. His skin was dark and there seemed to be an orange smoke that wafted off of him at all times. His mind wasn’t the same either. He was more primitive than the rest, and had disregarded anything others had said or done around him if it wasn’t related to hunting.
The second dragon who had been infected, had horns that continued to grow at an abnormal rate. His fur became greener overtime, and had become very long. He seemed to continue on with his daily life, and be mentally stable. Although, he went his separate way after a while too.
Slowly during the early spring, the rest of the clan seemed to get infected. The clan split up, venturing into the woods surrounding them to travel back to the Shrieking Wilds. Many of the dragons seemed to form small groups based on the characteristics that they had developed.
