Mostly focusing on hatchling blessings and exalting ceremonies, Phoenix has remarkable abilities and incredible discipline. Her fire magic is exceptional, and she is able to manipulate flames into beautiful images and spectacular fireworks. She is truly blessed by the Flamecaller, though her abilities comes with a small price. All of her children must be exalted to the Mather so that she can keep her powers. Every child that she is ever to hatch, it must be sent on to serve her God. It is a painful price, though she has never regretted her choice to become so powerful.

Phoenix, much like her namesake, rose from the ashes of the Blacksand Annex when the City expanded there, having been dormant in a small den underground for three years. During this time, she honed her mind, and thus has integrity, empathy, courage, and humility that is unlike any other. Her easy confidence draws dragons to her, and she is able to captivate any audience with her well-spoken tongue.

She and Butterwing clicked immediately upon meeting, and had their relationship blessed in the name of the Flamecaller, thus making it official by religious law. Neither of them can take another mate, lest they wish to die a horrible fiery death. This is no issue, however, because Phoenix loves her mate dearly and the two never quarrel.
