"What things are living? Most, if asked that question, will respond with the basic answers of dragons, animals and plants. But in reality there is so much more life out there than that which we see in front of us. For our plague mother, those life forms so often ignored by the other flights such as bacteria and other micro organisms, were just as important as plants. More important even. So she spread the viruses, the plague, and because of it, was hated. The other dragons didn't understand; they didn't know about the world too small to see. So the plague mother made them see. She created so many new life forms wishing for them to understand. Until finally, she created dragons. She spawned dragons from all that rot, and the virus, and all the sickness. And the other dragons hated those as well.
My mate and I were two of those dragons created by the plague mother. a small few she created and raised herself teaching them to be leaders. The rest she gave to already fully grown dragons to raise. My mate Thorn was one of those raised by her and I was part of the latter group.
The dragon who raised me as well as several other newly spawned, was a kind creature. She was one of the first three ever created and was old. Because she was created before the method was perfected she aged much faster than any other dragon. She died when I was only 7 years old. She was only 22 when she died
After her death I was alone. The other hatchings who had been raised with me had long since left for lairs of their own, to find mates of their own. So I left as well.
I had been raised close to the edge of the plague lands and when I left on my own it didn't take long for me to reach the border.
In the Starfall Isles when they saw me coming out of the plague they screamed and ran. Children were crying because their mothers had always told them what monsters the plague flight dragons were. I knew then that I would not be welcome here. So I traveled from flight to flight trying to find a place to settle down. Each flight had a differing level of terror, but it was always terror save for the Ashfall Waste. So it was there that I settled down.
My time in the Ashfall Waste was tough but enjoyable. They were the first to truly accept me without shuddering at my approach. But I couldn't stay there forever. When one of the border lairs in the Sea of a Thousand Currents heard that there was a plague dragon near them, they got scared and chased me out .
I fled until I returned to the scarred wasteland. Many years after my leaving it, it became my home once again. I explored from lair to lair greeted by many welcoming faces. Finally I stopped at one lair where a strong, large guardian stayed. He was eloquent due to his being raised by the plague mother. We talked about my travels and his own and we didn't stop until many days had passed and we had run out of our stored food. It was then that Thorn asked me to stay with his clan forever, and that is where I've been ever since.
I am now the queen mother of all the clan and biological mother to many dragons. And despite it seeming that every other flight hated us, many of them joined our ranks and we accepted them without any hesitation.
