Brookes joined the clan at a very early point in its lifetime, when it was only still a few dragons. He was a hatchling who joined it alongside his childhood friend Perys, who both came from a distant but very caring Earth clan that has kept a very good relationship with the Tranquil Mesa clan for a long time. Brookes actually carried over much of his personality from his father that lived in that very Earth clan; he was gentle, kind, and much more like a Skydancer than a Pearlcatcher.

Yet another quality of Brookes that has been recognized for being Skydancer-like is his ability to mediate disputes between clan members, an ability that has firmly earned him the title of Clan mediator in the face of certain adversities. In the past, when the Canyon and Cavern dragons would argue with one another about things like territory expansion or how to be efficient with their resources, Brookes would firmly place himself between the bickering dragons and ask each of them what they were in need of from this argument. Then he would find a way to find an adequate compromise for both parties. While there are many fights not even he can stop, he at least usually finds a way for these dragons to see reason and come back later to find a way to make a decision that benefits all the clan. No dragon can deny his reasoning and his methods are effective in some way.

And now that his biological father, Naos, has joined the clan, no dragon can deny the similarities between the two. While infinitely more bookish, Naos still has a very reasonable side that obviously rubbed off on the young Brookes. Brookes has definitely become a more socially smart dragon in a sense than his father has, but it stands to reason both his biological and found family affected how he ends up helping his clan family at the end of the day.
