Ghoul_Banner.png

Following Tether's failed attempt to contain the plague in the second trial, he was devastated. He grew up idolizing his older brother Intestium. The fact that he wasn’t as successful as Intestium made Tether feel ashamed. He would not wish the slow agonizing decaying of flesh he has felt every day since then, even on his worst foe. His newfound status drove him to bond with his Mother over their shared affliction.

After a month though something happened that changed his life forever... It was a normal day of wandering the clan halls when the madness hit him for the first time. In the haze of madness and terror of being caged Tether destroyed his spellbound jewellery that kept his disease bound to his body. Once he freed himself Tether felt a grin cross his lips at the feeling of unleashing his power as a Ghoul. It felt so good to let loose and as sudden as the feeling of madness arrived it left. When he snapped out of the haze Tether was horrified and at that moment decided it was time for him to leave his home clan.

Now he just had to choose where to go and what type of dragons to seek out. After much deliberation Tether chooses to seek out equally mad kin. He is currently sane enough to recognize there is no need to endanger innocent lives. But he worries about how long his sanity will last. Will he fully decay before the madness takes him or will he become a contagion spreading monster before the end?

Either way this will be his final trial, a trial that will last his whole life. He may be unworthy and seen as a failure but he is determined to prove that he is anything but. Watch out Sorneith ConTam’s little brother is about to make some powerful allies.

Ever since the "incident" that happened in his birth clan Tether has always heard whispers all around him. The whispers come from passing dragons and voices in his mind, taunting him and telling him that his status as a nobody will never change. But the day he met Idril things changed. The whispering voices in his head started to taunt him less often in the presence of the water Necromancer. Also, dragons who passed him did not dare speak ill of the Ghoul near her. Although the whispering voices have never left Idril's constant healing presence in his life has made the whispers easier to deal with.

Swirl:
Swirl-eyed dragons exist in two states: a dormant stationary state and an active swirling state. When active, the spiral of the dragon's eye rotates and they are able to observe and process a preternatural level of information about the world around them. In Necromancers and their variants, the effect often manifests as the ability to perceive a body's inherent weaknesses, susceptibilities, and latent disease states before symptoms even appear. The ability is not without price, for the more often a dragon activates their sight, the faster their control over it erodes. In later stages a dragon completely loses the ability to deactivate their gaze, leaving them in a state that is out of sync with time and space. They are no longer able to perceive reality as it is, and are instead lost to the exponential possibilities of the future. Like a disease, swirl eyes are contagious and can be transferred when a dragon touches another with magic. As a result, swirl eyes are an almost insurmountable liability in Necromancers. Instead it is Necroservi that benefit most from the eye-type, often using it in service of their Necromancer, who in turn can help them maintain control. Swirl eyes in Ghouls are truly terrifying. Already unstable, Ghouls with swirl eyes quickly lose control and fall into insanity. However that does not stop unscrupulous Necromancers forcing the condition on captive Ghouls, wanting the power the ability grants without suffering its detriments.

Fire
– Fire-born are especially gifted in bestowing fever and delirium. The most powerful can cause blood to boil in the veins. Fire Necromancers are experts at burning pathogens from the body and searing away infection. Often their cures can be more painful than the original affliction.
