Biography
||The Sweet Talker||
With words as sweet as honey Clementine always seems to get her way, but watch out, a little too much of her charm might leave you feeling sickly. No one quite knows how she does it, she just seems to know exactly what to say. Be it magic or just shockingly good charisma her targets always feel on top of the world when she speaks to them but then come crashing back with a turned stomach. Some say the mysterious amber liquid you can see in her chest is what does it, the scent of it gets released as she talks and while it intoxicates you it’s also incredibly deadly, some even likening it to acid. You only notice how much it’s killing you until she’s gone and the spell breaks, enabling you to see it for what it is. Her ‘business’ partner Lobelia would disagree, as she spends hours, days and even weeks as a time with Clementine and never feels any ill effects but, some might say that’s because she’s infatuated in other ways with Clem.
Insisting she only uses her powers for good despite no one really believing her since they, well, can’t help but believe anything she says, when she’s around of course. Clementine spends most of her time outside of the lair, gathering information on various things. She tries to keep it to useful things, like the best hunting spots, possible hostile parties, maybe even the location of roaming mirror hoard in case one is headed their way. Not everyone approves of her methods but she’s not hurting anyone, I mean unless you count the occasional stomach ache but still she never intends for that to happen most of the time. Her abilities are pretty useless in a fight anyhow, well, the ability to smooth talk is pretty useless once a fight breaks out. However many peoples theories about acid are pretty on the money actually. Clem is able to spit out that amber liquid you can see inside her, the scent of which in the open air can clear a room in seconds it’s so sickly. If it touches organics it quickly fizzles and turns the trademark plague neon green after several seconds of exposure. It’s helped her out of a few scrapes in the past, not many folks are keen on taking on a ridgeback at the best of times either.
The scent of the acid seems to vary from person to person, some insisting she smells of lilacs, others assure them it’s actually clove or spicy scented. It seems to take after whatever smell the creature in question finds most appealing.
