Biography
Draco was yet unnamed when he wandered into Bedoch's lair. He had not heard that she set her doors open. He did not think to be welcome for more than a day, time to rest and then move on.
One day became two, became a week. There was a fairly diverse group of dragons here, under such a young, small clan matron, many of them much older than her, but she held court well, knew how to listen, and how to command after.
Late in the night of the seventh day, while Draco was coming to terms with the fact that he wasn't leaving after all, he found himself on a precipice with a grand view of the Crystalspines and the stars above them. A small sound alerted him to the fact that he was not alone. Bedoch sat on a perch, taking in the stars.
"Starseer calls that one Draco, the Dragon," she said pointing out the shape of a constellation, "You remind me of it, with all the heavens on your hide."
"Would it be arrogant of me to take his name for my own?" Not-yet-Draco had asked, taking in the great cosmic dragon.
"Yes, but no one here will mind. Or at least, I won't, and I'm the one that matters." Be gave him a toothy grin, frills flared with joyous challenge.
Oh, Draco thought, It's her.
