Mystisten voimien rehtorin, Mystiquen vieraillessa Dragonhomen valtavassa kirjastossa, nainen tuli tutustuneeksi Escuroon, kirjaston arkkitehtiin ja valtavan tiedonmäärän haalineeseen keräilijään. Mystique ei ollut kiinnostanut tavallisesta historiasta, jota hän saattoi lukea Rusettien hovin omassa kirjastossakin vaan taikahistoria, mikä ei ollut kaikkien lohikäärmeiden julkisessa tiedossa. Osa moisista kirjoituksista oli näet kauan sitten tuhottu, koska niitä oli pidetty vaarallisina ja osa oli hukkunut muiden kirjoitusten ja aikakirjojen sekaan.

Mystiquen suureksi ihmeeksi, Escuro tiesi naisen kiinnostuksenkohteesta osaten vastata siihen. Helposti professori ei kuitenkaan suostunut siirtämään kotiaan Dragonhomesta Tähdenlennon saariryhmään. Vaati melkoisen määrän kultaa ja varoja Rusettien hovin varainhaltijoiden toimesta, ennen kuin mies päätti, että oli hänen aikansa jakaa lukemiaan tekstejä nuorempien ymmärrettäväksi. Olisihan ollut kirjaston perimmäisen tarkoituksen vastaista pimittää arvokkaita tiedonjyviä sellaisilta, joille niistä olisi hyötyä.

Vaikkakin Escuron luennot olivat pitkiä ja sisälsivät paljon muistiinpantavaa, nämä luennot täyttyivät nopeasti eikä luentosalissa läheskään aina riittänyt istumapaikkoja kaikille opiskelijoille.
