Biography

__________________________________________________________
Mismar
Seeker of True Understanding of the Nature of Plague
Clan Position: Local Wandering Plague Priestess, Part-time Vaccinator
Species: Dragon-Mirror(Necromancer)
Likes: 1-on-1 Debates, Vaccinations, Tea, Plague
Dislikes: Bureaucracy, Crowds, Negative/False Plague Stereotypes

-What is Survival? What is Plague? What is Magic? What is Plague Magic, then? How does it fit into the world? These and many more questions fascinate Mismar, who seeks a deeper meaning to the world around her and how she fits into it. She seeks out Plague in places where "Plague" is not-in the other flights, in seemingly healthy plants, animals, beastclan, dragons. She seeks to look at-really, deeply look at-the types of things other necromancers and tradition-minded Plague dragons overlook, or worse-defend without any sort of basis or logic behind it.

-She currently lives in Portalpoint, acting as a part-time priestess and teacher to anyone interested in Plague's ideologies, but more importantly as a giver of vaccines. While Mismar is able to endure plague that can threaten even some necromancers, her ability to pull plague from others is weak. She makes up for it through stubbornness and skill, and has a surprising amount of control over smaller amounts of plague magic, which she uses to inoculate her "patients" via her tea. Having a knack for knowing her patient's weaknesses (in terms of disease resistance) she is able to infect her tea with light enough amounts of plague to (almost always) safely inoculate her patients. She also gives shots or more direct magical administrations if necessary, or if an individual finds drinking diseased tea to be too gross. Contrary to what some say, she does not sneeze, cough, bleed, etc. into the tea, although it does taste fairly off.

-In addition to her tools that denote her as one seeking to evolve and be more, she also travels with her two companions, Fuhai and her Riot Hazebeacon Murklight (Murky for short). Murklight also denotes her status as a humble sage, even though it was Murklight that came to her, not the other way around. Fuhai, however, was a Plague Spirit Mismar befriended at a young age, and the two were friends ever since. The Birdskull Legband was from the first creature she was able to catch and test her powers on for her third trial. After eating it, she kept the skull as a memento of her first meal as a necromancer, and as thanks to the bird for its sacrifice. Some say that bird is actually Murklight, "reborn" as a Plague spirit. Murklight's skull looks remarkably similar to her legband...

-She would almost certainly be considered a heretic by many of her peers, considering the range of topics she is willing to debate for or against, many of them often taboo at best. The fact that she usually takes the "Devil's Advocate" side rarely helps matters, and apart from brief visits for specific reasons (Such as researching the arrival of Abberations and Abberation Necromancers) she avoids her homeland like the plague out of both the fear that she would be persecuted for her difference in viewpoint, and because of the amount of cutthroat politics she would be forced to navigate. In fact, the initial reason she left the Scarred Wasteland was simply because she didn't want the Necromantic Council to get in her way of finding her own path to enlightenment, and as such she has not joined the Council, even as a Standing councilor. But just because she remains as anonymous as she possibly can doesn't necessarily mean the Council hasn't noticed her, and worries that visiting Necromancers are secretly spying on her, or are planning worse...but seeing as how she became a Necromancer (and left the Scarred Wasteland) some time before the Council became more organized, only her parents likely know of her existence.

-A few of the topics she is willing to debate includes anything involving Liches, whether or not the undead should be persecuted or seen as a type of test/form of survival, if Nature should be hated or if it is just one of two sides on the same coin, and whether the Plaguebringer represents all of what Plague is, or if she is just a large, intelligent collection of it that only controls most of it. Less controversial topics she likes to talk about is how the different types of magic appear in other flights, such as trees/Nature in Arcane lands and Fire in Lightning territory, or just about Plague-related topics in general.

-She still claims to have a deep faith in the Plaguebringer, and for the most part she tries to follow Her Will...for the most part. But to those she trusts, she admits that even above her faith in the Plaguebringer, her true loyalty is to Plague itself, and she wants the survival of her and her friends above all else. Those few don't question her further about what that actually means, or what she would do if the Will of the Filthy One and her true goals were to oppose one another...

Necromancer
Necromancer Lore wrote:
Unusual eyes: Dragons with unusual eyes have depths in magical ability - and sometimes in personality - that can be hard to fathom. Their powers run deep, their bodies serving as a reservoir that can be drawn upon even when resources run thin. Unfortunately their endurance can also make them reckless and unusual-eyed dragons might overextend themselves if they are not familiar with their own limits. In regards to the trials, if these dragons are touched by Mother's Blessing they find that they can overcome the plague through sheer force of will. They beat back the sickness limb from limb, organ by organ, until it lies dormant within them, ready to be called upon. While it is rare for an unusual-eyed dragon to fail the second trial, they have no guarantees in passing the third.

Tools, represented by Bloodshard Chains, Grasps, Animal Apparel, Ice Picks, and Wing Fans: A symbol of self-actualization, determination, progress, action, manipulation, creativity, and resourcefulness. Necromancers bearing tools are forward-thinking and ambitious. They are seldom content with what is, instead urging their clan and leaders toward what could be. Where many Necromancers are bogged down by tradition and dogma, these individuals readily embrace Mother's doctrine of evolution, urging all around them to become more.

Lamps, represented by Riot Hazebeacon, Sage Lanterns, Flame Candles, Delver's Lamps, Cindersphere Baubles, and Steampunk Tail Baubles: A symbol of learning, openness, bravery, exploration, humility, evenhandedness, and wisdom. Necromancers bearing lamps often forgo the traditional role of noble advisor and are more often solitary. Instead of worldly power they seek personal enlightenment, and to guide others along that path. Unlike their sigil-bearing counterparts who seek to spread Plague gospel through domination, these Necromancers are content with a more peaceful missionary role, or that of a solitary sage who leaves others to come to them. In a group that defines itself through its command and nobility, the humble, lamp-bearing Necromancer is a rare creature indeed.

=Note that since Mismar is willingly not part of the Council, she has no official specialties, nor would she want her abilities boxed into a set category. These are listed only for reference as to what she technically would be/is currently specializing in, in order from most specialized to least specialized.=

Specialties: All Necromancers can manipulate disease, however Councilors further develop this power into diverse specialties to increase their standing and set themselves apart. There are eighteen specialties that Councilors can choose from, and each Councilor can develop up to 3 different specialties.
A Councilor's first specialty is their primary specialty. This is a specialty they are naturally gifted in, or are inherently drawn towards. The second specialty can be chosen to compliment the first, to expand the Councilor's abilities, or to gain access to some privilege or society that the Councilor wishes to be a member of. Not all Councilors choose a second specialty, and many never attempt to specialize in a third due to the investment of time and effort that is required. Those that do take a third specialty often do so as a show of power and ability, though some simply have diverse interests that they wish to develop.

Sages, "Found Within": Where Priests devote themselves to administering to the faith of others, Sages seek self-enlightenment. They are driven by the need to find their own truth - built through personal introspection and experiences - to forge an understanding of Plaguebringer’s teachings. Sages are the least likely to be involved with the Council, or to look to the Council for guidance, believing that this can only come from Plaguebringer Herself. Councilors often find themselves either condemning Sages as heretics, or asking them to serve as Instructors to pass on the unique insights and abilities they have developed through private meditation and practice. While Sages aren’t interested in finding an audience, most will gladly share their knowledge with those who seek them out. Many reject the idea of specialties (even the specialty of Sage), but common sub-specialties include variations on Oracle, Shaman, and Mutagist abilities.
Healer, "Survival Above All": The powers of the Necromancer mirror Mother’s dominion of Life that comes from Death, and some choose to nurture the healing attributes that set the Necromancer apart from the lesser types. Healers use their Plague magic to strengthen the body and grant the ability to survive when survival would otherwise be impossible. The Healer Necromancer is set apart from the more traditional healer by their motivations, which are typically far murkier and more complicated than simply wishing to return a dragon back to health. Injured or ill dragons usually choose a Necromantic Healer only if they are disciples of Plaguebringer, or if all other options have been exhausted.
Priest, "We Show The Way": The role of Priest is by far the most common specialty among Necromancers, and what most dragons aspire to when they decide to take their Trials. It is said that the Plaguebringer created the first Necromancer to win Her the hearts and minds of the dragons of Sorneith after no longer being satisfied with simply infecting their bodies. True to these mythic roots, the Priest administers Plaguebringer’s teachings to non-Necromancers, guiding both their material and spiritual lives. They baptize the dragons under their care with Plaguebringer’s latest creations, ensuring that their clan is strong in body as well as steadfastly devout. Priests can draw from almost any other sub-specialty, but commonly take Advisor, Infectionist, or Healer as secondary roles.
