Immortal was barely over a week old when he arrived at the Tavern, the hub for a bustling clan of extravagant dragons. This clan was deep in the ice region, but home to dragons of many flights. A welcoming place for any traveller to stay. An old Imperial they called Amari told stories of previous travellers who had come and gone, and welcomed Immortal as one of their own.
During his time here, Immortal found the company of a sneaky Scroll Stealer. Their relationship started off rocky but they quickly grew fond of one-another, though on his departure from the clan his newfound friend would have to stay behind. |
Immortal became restless and decided it was time for him to continue on his adventures, he said his goodbyes and left the clan.

"I'm still comparing your past to my future;
It might be your wound, but they're my sutures..."
It might be your wound, but they're my sutures..."
Immortal joined the Clan of Oceans in a time of relative calm. The mass of arriving dragons had been steadily slowing down in recent times, the clan staying mostly stagnant other than a few dozen travellers stopping briefly before continuing their quest to find Water's lost deity.
Immortal's arrival became something of a talking point within the clan, with faes flitting around gossiping about why Prince accepted a guardian. After all, the clan's guardians had been slowly but surely disappearing to the hibernal den. Some of them had been asleep for so long that even Siro, the most senior of the clan's tundras, could barely recognise them by anything but smell.
Immortal heard these rumours and snippets of gossip, and decided to ignore them. He found an untouched coral reef within the clan's borders and claimed it as his charge, staying as close to it as he could. Within days, marine life began to grow along his back, and he welcomed this.
Immortal knew that he'd have to leave his charge eventually. That was the nature of his journey, after all - he would wander endlessly, destined to never stay in one place for too long.
But until then?
He was safe here, surrounded by friends both marine and draconic, and he knew he could stay as long as he liked.
When the Clan of Oceans began discussing a move to the outskirts of the Shoredeep Presage, Immortal got nervous. His coral reef charge was far away from there, and he knew he couldn't leave it. Fortunately, the smartest ecologists and planners of the clan helped him devise a solution - if the dragon can't move from the charge, why not move the charge?
With the help of the most powerful Nature and Water magic users, Immortal slowly but surely moved his precious coral reef to a spot near the rest of the clan at the Presage. It took an incredible amount of time, but it was worth it - not a single fish or piece of coral was damaged, and Immortal could rest content in his role as protector of the ocean life.
Unfortunately, Immortal knew he had to move on eventually. He was growing restless, and this clan was dealing with its own troubles.
With a heavy heart, Immortal carefully removed the coral reef he'd been protecting for months upon end, with Dory and Raive assisting using their combined Water and Nature magic. After a painstaking process where no piece of coral or tiny fish was harmed, Immortal said a final goodbye to the clan who'd accepted and trained him, and flew away.
----
After leaving the Clan of Oceans, Immortal was unsure where to head next. The world had endless opportunities! He decided that he needed to do some research first. He flew to Sornieth's largest known set of libraries, the Tourmaline Archives, that were located in the heart of the Arcane lands to seek inspiration and knowledge. Perhaps there would be legends that could inspire his next journey.
When he arrived to the Tourmaline Archives, Immortal was torn between being intimidated by sheer vastness of the library and an overwhelming glee to just grab a book or scroll and begin reading. Where does one even start? [to be continued]
