It was you who grew the jade vines and the fruits that flowered, but you who also tore them down, staining grape juice on your hands like blood.

Her tiptoes are like a dancer's: graceful and calculated, touching and then leaving ground in seconds. She knows the songs of the bards, has them memorized in her heart, their faces and their stories, and the wondrous adventures they walked.

She still sees a long-abandoned dream of a spotlight in town, her body to the music, bound by the passion and the joy of feeling the beat through her very core. She had attained it once, had played in courts like jewelry on display, put on a mask and danced around the ballroom, living a fantasy she never thought of achieving.

And then she danced on broken glass, cut her feet on a bard's life who had entertained her, who had loved her, who had pulled a knife from their pockets and tried to end her.

She dreams of nights of unending passion, of dancing until her feet bled again, staining the pristine palace with splotches of imperfection. She sees a future of her happiness all too clearly because it is gone—gone with the blade that ended the bard's life, her hands finding purchase in the blade's hilt, the fluttering order of a world that is kill or be killed.

She regrets that she doesn't regret, not even a flinch when she looked into their glazed eyes, frozen in shock. Her patron had yearned for blood and she too happy to deliver.

Her soul still calls for blood, still yearns to return to a life of espionage and secrecy, playing the Nobles' Game like she was a part of them. And perhaps she was, or still is, her blood longing to delve into court intrigue again, dancing with both her body and her words, disguising knives like gifts for special guests.

(Her feet still hurt.)

As the head of the clan, Aurelia is in charge of governing and making decisions that will affect the whole of the clan and its inhabitants. While she looks young (and acts young), she has a wisdom behind her eyes that no one can doubt. It is with her cheerful personality and fair rule that most of the clan is content with their matriarch.

She likes holding festivals whenever possible. If there's even thesmallest reason for a party or celebration, Aurelia will take it.
