RELATIONS

SERKAN - Master
Serkan was always there for him. Despite being a fearsome and strong warrior, his heart was soft and he was considerate towards his students and other dragons. He believed all of his students could pass and become an elite, no dragon had ever failed beneath Serkan's training. Ever. And when Lochlan thought he couldn't make it to the elite, he was quickly proved wrong.

57921267p.png

STARGAZER - Friend
Being Serkan's personal assistant, intimidating and also a level 25, it made him quite fearful. But when he got to meet him properly and began to talk more often, he realised that he was a lot nicer. He just had a little anger issues (though he was decent at controlling it) and wasn't very social. He was definitely quite a fun person to talk to, even though he only talked formally, he didn't mind.

58466657p.png

Dakari - Friend
Although they didn't talk much, they were friendly towards each other and made talk. Since Dakari also trained under Serkan, they had a small bond. Dakari was one of the few students who didn't laugh when he failed to shoot an arrow as a near-elite. Lochlan didn't hang out with him too much since he was far too hyper for him.

58946587p.png

ELORA - Rival
Now, Elora wasn't a particularly mean guy, but there was something off about him. Really off.. Many dragons didn't realise, and Lochlan was one of the few who saw right through him and his lies. He had tried to confront him, alas, he denied it and called him an a liar instead.

AURORA - Rival
Being Elora's partner, Aurora instantly became his other enemy. She shared many simular traits of being sly and a great lie-teller. Of course, Lochlan disapproved of this and disliked Aurora too.

HISTORY
He sighted along the length of his arrow, breathing slowly, steadily. The target was in sight and easily hittable, except for the very centre. He was aiming for the pinpoint of red painted in the middle of a circle of wood. He could do this. He had trained for it. He could show he was capable of becoming an elite.

He concentrated on that one point of colour and released the arrow on an exhale, just like he had been taught. He watched the feathered shaft cut through the air, flying straight and true. But he knew, as soon as he had released the arrow, that it would not hit it's intended target.

Just as he'd predicted, the sharp point pierced the wood off to the left, nowhere near his planned mark. It quivered for a couple of seconds then stilled smugly. Lochlan sighed and turned away from it, swinging his bow onto his shoulder and making sure he had the rest of his arrows stored safely away in their quiver. He left the one he'd shot where it was, so that when he came back later he could see where he had got to.

His tutor, Serkan, came over to him in one flowing movement. The turquoise blue Spiral did not look in the least happy, but then, who would when one of their top pupils couldn't hit their mark?

'I am sorry, Lochlan,' He said softly. 'But I don't think you will be making elite level anytime soon.'

Lochlan gazed at him with wide eyes. His tutor was usually understanding, calmly teaching the right way to go about something and encouraging when they made mistakes. This was so unlike him, to tell one of his students this.

'I will make it,' Lochlan said defiantly. He hadn't trained for so long for nothing. 'This is just a one off. I can hit it again... Usually.'

'Usually,' Serkan emphasis. 'Is not good enough. Do it again if you are so sure of yourself.'

The Wildclaw shifted from foot to foot for a moment; he could feel the eyes of the flock of other trainees on him. They were meant to be training claw to claw combat with each other, but had stopped to watch the events unfold.

He pulled another arrow from its casing and turned back to the target, slotting the notch on the arrow to the string. He raised it as high as his short arms could go and bent his head so he could sight. One breath later and the arrow had left the safety of its owner and was trembling in the ground beneath the log, almost mocking him with it's brightly coloured flights. Lochlan grunted and tried again, this time hitting closer to where his first arrow had gone. He could feel the stares of the other dragons boring into him, his teacher's the strongest of the all. Snickers were beginning to quietly arise.

He decided to try once more, determined this one would be right on spot. He calmed his breathing, concentrated hard on the target, pulled the bowline back so far it dug into his scales, and freed the arrow. He stared at it in disbelief as it shot over the log and vanished into the forest beyond.

Laughs erupted from the students behind him and he looked back to see Serkan watching him grimly. This wasn't right. He had always been good at archery, the arrow flying straight to the mark. What had happened to him? Frustration rose inside him like a tidal wave, choking his words before they could even begin to form coherent sounds. He couldn't stand this.

Strong legs powering him, he sprinted into the beckoning forest, almost treading on his only-just-lost arrow. He didn't bother picking it up, just ran, on and on, until he reached the place he came to when he wanted time alone. A stream ran quickly from a hill, splashing over rocks and fallen branches.

Eventually his claws grasped only air when he reached for yet another arrow. He had shot all of them. He dropped his bow to the ground and stared at it sadly. It had served him so well over the years, and now it had failed him. He had half a mind to smash it right there and then and get a job as a baker or something like that.

A slow clapping brought him back to reality. He glanced back and saw Serkan coming out from the trees, trying to walk on his hind legs while clapping. He gave up when he tripped over a rock and came towards Lochlan on all fours instead, a broad grin on his face. 'You are masterful with a bow and arrow, Lochlan. Just look at that!'

Confused, the Wildclaw followed the pointing claw and his eyes widened at the sight. The arrows he had shot were clustered together like swords in a vase, some of them even splitting others neatly in half. Had he done that?? No, surely not. 'I... that was not me.' He said lamely.

'Of course it was!' Serkan exclaimed. 'I was watching you. You couldn't do it earlier because you were concentrating too hard. Think of nothing and just let the arrow and your instincts guide you and you can be a master. An elite.'

Lochlan looked at him, then the arrows. 'You made me mad so I couldn't concentrate?'

'Exactly.'

'Hrmm,' was all he said. He smiled slightly, even though he was annoyed at his tutor. I CAN still be an elite, he thought.
