Were you wanting an ho'ta? Um, ah, I think you call it a 'tattoo'. My art is not cheap and it is not a quick process if you do but I believe these places stay open for a lengthy period of jira. No? Then for what reason are you here?

asLbxD1.gif Koa was one of the first few to hatch on V'MuMo. She along with a few others were raised by the pearlcatcher who lived there before them. She was one of the last few to indulge in cannibalism, and when the Council wanted to send a dragon or two with the pirates to act as emissaries and become part of the crew Koa volunteered. She was both intrigued and scared but she knew the ultimate goal was one that would keep her tribe alive without loss or injury due to starvation.

Despite the purpose that put her on deck of the Crowned Thresher Koa found herself despising the ways of the strange dragons. The common language shared throughout Sornieth was throaty and didn't sound nearly as smooth as the language of V'MuMo despite sharing some common words. Their work came first on the ship and leisure time came afterwards, and Koa found comfort in either socializing with the other V'MuMoans on the ship or creating art. It was something she'd discovered she had a knack for and an intense interest in as she learned more about the world beyond V'MuMo. Her primary canvas was dragon wings. She tattooed sailors and dragons on land and even paid to learn how to better apply her art to the wing.

What Koa lacked in vibrant and appealing colors, she made up for in mystique and overall exotism. Her behavior, thick native accent, and even appearance wasn't common for most of Sornieth and that was enough to capture the intrigue of other ancient and modern dragons. Koa shared no interest and unless they had something she found appealing (which was nearly anything artistic from clothing to paper drawings and writings) she barely gave them any attention at all.

She lacked foreclaws but the banescale had adapted well to working on the ship with objects foreign to her and she absorbed everything like a sponge. The reclusive but observant behavior that Koa initially had on the ship soon changed to one of command even when she wasn't in charge. She didn't care for dragons that fumbled and showed them how to be more efficient even if they didn't like it.

The trials that she had endured on V'MuMo were involved in tactics she used to fight. She was far better at fighting in the air but the dragon didn't often spar because she didn't care to fight without drawing blood and she put her whole body to use from her tail to her teeth. It wasn't uncommon to see an enemy's blood dripping off of her chin from a fatal wound and she often made a show of enjoying the taste to her enemies.
