Biography
Lair of Bxy26
Birthed in the Shadow realm, her colors might be "wrong" by normal Coatl standards, but her grey shades were perfect camouflage in the shadowy woods. Her glimmering, startouched feathers were all the rage for Coatls in her clan. It wasn't until she started wandering that she realized that others did not feel the same way.
She is the clan's resident seamstress and tailor, specializing in practical gear for the hunter, warrior, alchemist, and mage. None of that froo-froo nonsense for her, thank you very much! Her philosophy is that if every dragon wore clothes, then how could their lovely patterned scales and feathers be seen? She will permit herself to wear a bit of jewelry on occasion, however, and she likes how the violets match her eyes. So does K'uk'ulcan.
Story: (WIP)
K'uk'ulcan emerged from the cave where the Vessel lay. He had completed his task; there was a small flame burning in a hollow trench in front of her, providing a smoke screen between her and the rest of the world. He had visited her in the Beyond, received a message from her for her parents, and now he was heading out to give the clan's current Seer instructions on how to tend the fire. Though she was not blessed with multiple sights, as a Guardian, she would be less affected by the smoke and therefore capable of replenishing the flame every day.
"...and hopefully your clan will be blessed with another soon, one who can sustain the travel into the Beyond and back."
The Seer smiled sadly. "I was hopeful that one might come from my line. But my mate was the only egg in his clutch, and so far we have only been able to produce one egg ourselves. Our son has found a mate but is not prepared to breed yet."
The Coatl prepared to take his leave, but she stopped him. "Even if our clan does produce another with many sights, will they not need training? Can you not assist us until then?" She looked down at him pleadingly. Having realized that even her prodigious talent was insufficient to fully support her clan, she was not jealous, but rather frantic that an obstacle would emerge that she could not surmount.
K'uk'ulcan opened and closed his mouth a few times. He was sorry to leave the clan in desperate straits, but it had never been his intention to stay. "I--I never intended..." he began.
The Guardian interrupted. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed you." She sighed. "If in your travels you find any gifted with multiple sights who would be interested in living here with us..."
"I'll be sure to pass the word along," he agreed. She let him leave, watching him sadly.
