Ask why Thamuz made the change from and Imperial into a Mirror, and you're likely to get a rather crazy (and utterly false) answer. He's got millions of them, which he relishes weaving in his spare time.

The truth of the matter, was that he changed for Erebos.

Unlike him, Thamuz was born into a life of luxury. He had all he desired, and yet felt empty. A typical spoiled prince, he says, that yearned for so much more. Each day, he looked out across the wasteland of his home--until nothing just so happened to become something. A wild-looking Imperial. A cursed one, he noted, by the ragged bandages hanging around his head. By the way he'd desperately try to fix them, to desperately try and hide whatever was lying beneath. It was almost...cute. Transfixed, Thamuz watched the horizon for him each morning as Erebos went along his daily ritual of hunting to sustain himself. Working so, so hard for something he had at his beck and call.

When there was talk of punishment for infringing on their lands from the clan's leaders, Thamuz made his decision in that moment. Without the knowledge of his people, a sorcerer's services were acquired--and the Imperial became a Mirror that very night, and left to search for that sad-eyed creature he'd become fascinated with. Tracking him proved difficult with two new eyes, and needless to say, it took him quite a while to gather his bearings enough to continue on with his journey. It was worth it however, even if his search took him to the least likely of places--the Viridian Labyrinth.

But, there he was. Regal, deadly, absolutely gorgeous, so unlike the scrappy creature he'd seen scrambling for rotten scraps in the Wasteland. He attempted to go unnoticed, but the Imperial's senses were far from untrained as they had been before. And, new form or not, it seemed as though Thamuz hadn't gone unnoticed before. Greeted as 'the bratty prince,' he couldn't help but be utterly delighted by someone who treated him as an equal.

But there was one who did not--the Guardian he'd seen skulking around the night Erebos left. The elders of his clan had spoke of him, of a Guardian tossed from his own clan for his 'radical' views and ideas for the glorification of Plaguekind. He was wary of him, but didn't let Erebos know this--instead distracting him by other means. Joining the clan's Mirror pack, he did little to help them, but did so for one purpose: information. Jahzara was a wealth of it, and a silent understanding between the two was born as he sat nearby and listened to her reports of Vasilios' unfolding plans.

Although he found it distasteful, he stood by the Imperial he'd grown to care deeply for, no ill will in his heart for the decision he'd made. The day that the Guardians' plans finally unfolded, he vowed to protect him however he could. He nearly paid with his life in the jaws of Lockwood's grandson. Tossed against a tree with little effort, his world going dark, he cursed himself. Cursed his tiny body, cursed his weakness. But, something in his mind reminded himself that he'd chosen this form for a reason. That he couldn't give up...not yet. But he was so tired...and his vision blurred just as the great Imperial's face drew new, and drew down to scoop him up.

For days, he struggled to keep himself alive. Everything ached...it hurt terribly to breathe, sharp knives of pain stabbing his broken ribs. Every now and then, he'd wake enough to greedily guzzle the water Erebos brought him--and then, the darkness would take him once more. He doesn't remember much, only the surprise of finding himself back within the Clan in the Mists' grounds once more. Both Erebos and a young female Centaur were now with him, watching over his aching body. Their smiles were what finally roused him, and he was soon finally able to lean into his mate's embrace with little pain. They'd done it...they were free.

Today, Thamuz is still reminiscent of the Imperial who once strode through his 'kingdom' with his head held high. Flamboyant, loud, and crass, this strangely beloved Mirror wanders about--still contributing to little in general, other than the Mirror pack, as their reconnaissance and combat rescue expert. Though his services are seldom needed, he has silently vowed to his pack that he'll be there whenever they wish. Lately, he's even become part of more hunts, fully integrated into his new life as a Mirror.

For now, he seems content to loaf about painting his claws bright red, sitting atop Erebos' legs, ever the little brat prince he's always been.
