B I O G R A P H Y

Born and raised in the Mist-Ice Divide, located deep within the Fortress of Ends, Loki doesn't know where else he'd call home. When his egg was discovered, dormant among the ice, he had no parents to speak of. As a result, his egg was placed under the care of Emeraldwing, a female Skydancer and the clan's Nature Flight representative. The Gaolers of the clan were the most surprised by the discovery of a Banescale egg, and the most wary, yet Nightwing insisted upon taking Loki in and raising him as their own. He's grown incredibly loyal as a result, and has since been able to ease the Gaolers' worries with every passing day, never once blaming them for their behavior.

Due to being an orphan as a result of the ancient war between Banescales and Gaolers, Emeraldwing quickly became his surrogate mother. Her mate, Shadowstrike, eventually followed suit and became Loki's surrogate father. Being a Nature dragon, Emeraldwing was able to teach Loki how to harness his own abilities, though he sought the tutelage of Vitani for combat. He has a tightly knit relationship with his mother especially, taking the Viridian Mother's lessons to heart and always enjoying their time together. It wasn't long before he adopted her views either, greatly respecting the nature around him, wherever he went. This never changed as he matured, often being seen going on flights alongside her, even being joined by Shadowstrike on occasion.

As time passed, the Mist-Ice Divide's awareness of the Banescale population grew, and have since begun accepting more of them into the clan. Among these new members is Tazenia, a female who was brought in only just recently. She was rough around the edges initially, but Loki was eventually able to break down her icy walls little by little, the pair soon building a near unbreakable bond. Some time later, he came across an orphaned male Coatl, one of the eternally youthful hatchlings in the clan. Loki saw a lot of himself in the Coatl, and much like his mother, took him in without hesitation. After some debate with Tazenia, he decided to call the hatchling Freyr, raising him as his own. Now, the three are rarely apart, their bond as a family ever growing.

_PERSONALITY_

____Ever the explorer, Loki is eager to see just about anything and everything he can. All those years laying dormant in an egg especially fueling his desire to see the world, he's gone as far as having his own study of sorts to allow him the space needed to record his discoveries. Loki is fascinated with the Viridian Labyrinth especially, given that he's a Nature dragon and his surrogate mother initially came from a clan located somewhere within the Behemoth tree. His study is almost overflowing with records of the area.

____As a Banescale, it's almost no surprise to the clan that Loki developed an interest in music. He had been looking into whatever records remained of his ancestors when he happened upon what remained of an old song, and has been creating his own ever since. Loki sought lessons from Duviing and Noctis, and has since developed his own style, preferring to use songs as a form of storytelling. This has earned him the title of Songcaller, especially as he uses his songs to aid his clanmates. He's also been seen singing Freyr to sleep.

_ORIGINS_

____The circumstances surrounding Loki's egg are still largely a mystery, and would've been an even deeper mystery had the Gaolers not been around to identify him as a Banescale. Little records exist concerning the history of the breed, resulting in a considerable amount of trial and error while raising him. His diet was an especially difficult struggle, as he seemed like he was never getting enough nutrients by eating just insects and seafood. It was soon discovered that he needed meat...after he accidentally fell into the food storage.

____Though the reasons why Loki's egg was in the middle of the snow are unclear, it's commonly agreed that he was lucky to have been discovered at all. Loki is quick to agree to such statements, feeling similarly and always expressing his gratitude to Nightwing for vouching for him, despite the wary Gaolers. It's thanks to this decision that allowed the Mist-Ice Divide be aware of Banescales as a whole, and Loki is ever eager to find whatever records of his ancestors that still exist, always expanding his clan's knowledge of others like him.
