Sioras was among the early hatchers in the giant clutch of Banescale eggs, and wasted no time spreading her wings and flying free, the songs the elders sang repeating in her mind so she wouldn't forget.

The Blacksand Annex was large and filled with newly hatched Banescales taking to the skies, and she joined them as the lifted off. She wasn't sure where she was going, but she had a feeling she would know when to land.

That feeling didn't come until she reach Earth territory. Something about the land called to her, and she soon landed to experience the feeling up close. There was a history, a story, something there that excited her. She was so busy looking at the strange ruins that she completely missed the earth fae who was also there.

The two noticed each other at the same time, and simply stared at each other. The banescale though she had found another hatchling until he spoke.

"A Banescale? I Thought You All Died Out."

"i was a part of the last clutch," she responded. "you know of us?"

"Why Yes, I Have Learned Much About The Dragons From Ancient Times."

"i want to learn more!"

"Then You May Tag Along," the fae replied, the two immediately beginning to chat as they headed back towards Fiennes's home.

Sioras made fast friends with Fiennes, despite her trouble understanding him. The two often converse about history, especially when it comes to ancient breeds, and go exploring together.

Sioras's research had lead her to investigate the myth of the Veilspun, despite the scoffs and eye rolls from most of the dragons she had asked about it. It was an intriguing myth, and the rumors of some sort of portal lead the Banescale to believe perhaps some investigating of her own was needed.

The clan's librarian was the first one Soiras had asked, and she had been rather knowledgeable on the subject, and thankfully she had gotten a quick grasp on the Coatl's language. The field work she wouldn't do alone, quickly recruiting Fiennes and Sabhano, much to his partner's chagrin.

"Are You Even Sure We Will Find Anything?"

"no, but dendrrah seemed confident tonight was a good one to go out looking," the Banescale replied. "both of us have experience with this kind of thing, and we have a shadow native with us! i'd say the chances for us are favorable."

It was quite a trek through shadow territory, one Sioras had thoroughly planned to the best of her ability, but after many hours of flying and walking it seemed that they would have to call it quits as the group had wandered quite a ways from their intended path.

Sioras was glad for Sabhano's agreement to come, as he was able to help them find their way back to the planned route home. They'd almost reached it when Sioras spotted movement. She hissed, signaling Sabhano and Fiennes to stop moving. She waited as the movement came again, and quietly beckoned the two other dragons to follow. The approach was slow, and she soon had eyes on what was moving: a dragon that didn't look like any she had ever seen.

Sioras watch incredulously as the tiny hatchling flitted around the brambles, softly calling out in a scared tone. Glancing back at the other two who were staring, she decided to risk replying.

"hello? are you alright?"

The hatchling squeaked, startled as it saw the three dragons, two of which were much larger than him. "Who... where?"

"are you lost? Sioras asked, noticing the hatchling seemed to be shivering, but if it was out of fear or cold she was uncertain. Another quick glance back at her companions showed her that Sabhano had backed up while Fiennes was right next to her.

"Lost..." the hatchling nodded. "Cold."

"are your parents nearby? or hatchmates?"

"Alone..."

"if you'd like you can come with us! we know a nice, warm, safe place you can stay while we figure this out ok?"

"... Ok."

Sioras sighed with relief as the tiny hatchling fluttered over to them, landing on Sabhano's back and curled up in his mane. The Banescale caught the Gaoler's suprised look to her and just shrugged. She nodded carefully in reply and the four made their way back home.
