bio 🙢 A strange wind blew over the beaches at the edge of the Haven the day Osin's clutch hatched. His feathers, already oozing infection, shivered as they sloughed off the ooze of his egg, and he almost immediately began clawing towards the edge of the nest. Small as he was, he had a hunger to hunt, and to run. The Haven is far from the wasteland he came from, but very soon indeed after he reached his peak of strength he came upon it. Eta in one of her long, lonely patrols found him digging a foxhole in the sand as the sun sank into the horizon. She loomed over him, and her flat but kind voice invited him to a more comfortable den for his stay. Madness did not prevent him from seeing the sense in her offer, so he accepted, and now he makes but one more of the odd, dangerous company that inhabits the caves deep below. This dragon is young yet. He does not have so many of the prizes as his kin who have wandered the wasteland have taken in their years. Nevertheless, he is strong and his macabre hoard of treasures grows each time he spars with the Haven's warriors- and spreads infection among the mightiest of his opponents.

notes 🙢  Osin holds within him an odd strain of the Effluvial virus. It sends deep roots through the body, and twists flesh and bone to its own devices. Feathers and scales still grow, but alongside so does bark and leaves, reaching towards the sun. It feeds on gore as much as anything else, and its blood-red leaves are flush with color when its carrier is healthy. They do not fall in the cold, and they lend a woodsy protection not easily cracked by fang or bolt.

trivia 🙢 Despite being a meat-eater, Osin has a taste for plants fed by blood or bone meal. His fellow 'claws don't exactly understand this, but the local Tundras enjoy settling down with him for a good meal of fresh Gradishes. Osin is far from being the only dragon in the Haven who lives with an eternal curse. Excelsior, ghostly as he is, is a favorite sparring-mate, especially on stormy days when the crackling lightning the Skydancer breathes is made that much more potent and thrilling to dodge. Many other dragons are worthy warriors- in fact, a surprising majority of the clan are formidable fighters, if not accomplished generals in their own right. However, the one who catches Osin's eye is another young Wildclaw, decked out in flowers and poison. He's been practicing his dance, and considering how well they work together, he may or may not be gathering some of his own feathers to craft together for her.
