Background
From the day Aelante’s parents knew they had been gifted a child, his path was decided for him. Born as the second child to a royal couple in the Sunbeam Ruins, Aelante was raised to become a scholar and bring his home country honor and fame. When he was a child, he was taught in etiquettes and diplomacy, but when he grew older, his lessons evolved more around humanities and science. He learned about linguistics, literature, history, and mathematics. Eventually, his parents found that the education he received in their country was not sufficient. Instead, he was sent away, not even an adolescent, to study magic and astronomy in the Observatory at the Starfall Isles.

Unable to revolt, Aelante followed their wish. He left for the Observatory, and for a few years, he studied under the care of famous scholars and powerful magicians. But during these years, something grew inside of him. He felt pressure weighing down heavily on his shoulders and an unrest growing in his chest. This was not the life he wanted. It was a life he was dictated to live, like a puppet on his parents’ strings. He felt himself crumble under the realization as he tried to accept the path others had outlined for him.

It took him a few more years until he realized that his life had to change. Aelante longed for social contact, to use his charisma and diplomatic skills rather than dry knowledge. One day, he took the chance and snuck out of the Observatory, and left with little more than his clothes on his body.

Aimlessly, he travelled for a while, when fate made him cross paths with a group of dragons. When Aelante met them, they were at the verge of being attacked by a group of harpies that saw themselves attacked in their territory. With a quick and silvery tongue, Aelante managed to convince the harpies to leave the dragons alone. The group’s leader, a wildclaw by the name of Kati, offered Aelante a place in her ranks to thank him for the deed he had done. Still not knowing where to go, Aelante accepted the offer. Together, they continued their travels, until one day, they arrived at the gates of Illuralë.

For a while, Aelante felt restless in this new environment after having been on the road for so long. That was until he met Aen, a secretary living in the city. The two fell in love and Aelante felt himself unable to leave again. Instead, he started a new life within the city walls. His wits and ambitions quickly allowed him to rise to the position of the Illuralë’s diplomatic leader.
