Biography

Crumbling Relief Toridae Mythology Half-Moon Spectacles Toridae Mythology Crumbling Relief

The only group of dragons that don't necessarily contribute to business, at least not directly. They are experts in their field and instruct defensive forces, geographical quirks, religious influences in other regions, among many other things to ensure a smooth prosperity of the town. Their research and vast wisdom is priceless, essential even when the town will eventually make it's grand leap to becoming a proper kingdom.

Unlike bards, researchers do feel safer traveling with a knight as company. Even those proficient in magic choose to do so, just to be safe.
It never hurts to have an assistant.

Their home is deep within the Keep, letting them do their thing without interferences of visitors. Upon special requests, guests may visit the library and it's adjacent research buildings; but without such permissions, guards will not allow visitors to come near. It's not that some fascinating secrets are being kept there - it is purely to prevent unwanted intrusions. If the academic dragons wish to mingle with guests, they themselves head for the public areas.
Well, that's only half the truth. Their research is indeed valuable, and many would be delighted to get their claws on it. But it isn't so special that heavy surveillance is necessary, nor some unforeseen terror would happen if any of it was leaked.

Local dragons of the Keep are always welcome to visit the library - although it holds little in terms of fiction. Over recent years Laurant and Alfie have worked hard towards expanding the library's selection on non-scholarly tomes.
