*Strange traveler in a strange land*


Tern was found near a strange circular pillar structure. She initially was hesitant to join the strangers who found her but they seemed nice enough even giving her her own space within their little community. She couldn’t remember much of what happened or how she got there. She recalled times when tall thin apes in coats would ask her to complete puzzles and wear a special harness that she could make talk. And one day there was a special puzzle and a strange bright flash of light and the tall apes, the room, their friend Sparrow... were gone. She noticed that she was very different than how she was, in a strange body that took some getting used to. At first she found the stranger’s language very strange but then found that she actually understood what was being said surprisingly. Still the strangers laughed at the idea of “tall apes”, nothing like that has lived in this land for a over millennia.

She recalls her former shape; sleek black feathers and long tail. Sharp teeth. Everything was so much larger... There's familiarity with these small birds... Tern wonders if she’ll ever return home....
