Biography
Glade
The Living Tree
Ghosts That we Knew - Mumford and Sons
So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light
'Cause oh that gave me such a fright
But I will hold as long as you like
Just promise me we'll be alright
So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light
'Cause oh that gave me such a fright
But I will hold as long as you like
Just promise me we'll be alright

Glade, like many, wasn't intending on coming to the clan. He comes from a long background of grown trees spirits within the Viridian Labyrinth, all of them silently waiting, quiet and without words. Glade never even learned language until he was pulled away by the search of his charge. He uprooted himself, even his scales having formed to be like bark. Crystals had begun to grow between them, so with every step his frame groaned and sparkled in the light.
His travels took him all across Sorneith, through the ice lands, the earning ache to find his charge keeping him propelled as he traveled through many clans, many instances, many situations. It's left him scarred and worn, lumbering on to try and find where exactly his charge lie. That is, until he finally ended up at the Aloe Caves.
After an awful attack on the garden, there had been quite the commotion as to what to do about protecting the clan's resources. Many within the clan borders relied on the garden for fresh food, fresh herbs and sustainable life. The intruders had stolen everything from Inkheart and left her heart broken and virtually defeated.
It took many many months for the garden to return to once again it's fruitful state. By this time a new visitor came to join the clan. He was large, and quiet as he shuffled into the garden walls, laying down by the entrance of the garden.
He only ever speaks to Inkheart and the inhabitants of the garden now, having found his charge being the very garden she raises. It took a great while for him to grow to trust the other clan members, finding many of them too loud and wasteful. Nonetheless, he's gotten more lenient about letting them enter into the garden, though he watches everyone with a close eye. Many mistake him for a very large overbearing tree until they look closer, to see two threatening eyes watching them among the brush.

The willow is like an etching,
Fine-lined against the sky.
Then ginkgo is like a crude sketch,
Hardly worthy to be signed.
The willow’s music is like a soprano,
Delicate and thin.
The ginkgo’s tune is like a chorus
With everyone joining in.
The willow is sleek as a velvet-nosed calf,
The ginkgo is leathery as an old bull.
The willow’s branches are like silken thread;
The ginkgo’s like stubby rough wool.
The willow is like a nymph with streaming hair;
Wherever it grows, there is green and gold and fair.
The willow dips to the water,
Protected and precious, like the king’s favorite daughter.
The ginkgo forces its way through gray concrete;
Like a city child, it grows up in the street.
Thrust against the metal sky,
Somehow it survives and even thrives.
My eyes feast upon the willow,
But my heart goes to the ginkgo.
Fine-lined against the sky.
Then ginkgo is like a crude sketch,
Hardly worthy to be signed.
