Delana was found as an egg by her parents, Varkus and Sera. They were the clan leaders, and she looked up to her father the most. He was ruthless and cunning, able to make decisions based on logic under pressure. Knowing that, someday, she would inherit the position as clan leader, Delana strove to be as much like her father as possible. As the head healer, she was charged with making executive decisions on the daily. It certainly wasn’t as rigorous as making decisions that affected the whole clan, but she knew she was learning. Delana could make split-second decisions, decisions that would make or break a dragon’s chances of surviving.

This pressure did not bother Delana at all. She knew her father was proud of her, she knew he cared for her. As she grew older, she felt her father’s pride in her work. Each day, Delana strove to impress her father. And each day, she succeeded. Her father knew he had made the right decision to put her in charge of the healer’s guild, and he knew that one day when it was time for her to take charge of the clan, the clan would thrive under her guidance.
