Did Monochromatic want to be a pink dragon? No. Did he choose to be pink? No, he did not. In his experience, pink dragons are seen as friendly and soft and pathetic and he did not want to be anything like that. Instead, he made a deal with the Shade. He was already extremely loyal to the dark order but why not get a little something in return for his efforts?

After a quick chat and a trial to prove where his loyalties lie he was given his wish. He was no longer a pink dragon nor was he the tiny Fae that he once was... now he was a darker dragon with bright red wings, much like his father, and a translucent belly showing the blood of his victims swirling around within. He was now also a fierce-looking Wildclaw - something the Shade thought would help him on his journey.

Mono couldn't be happier after that day. Sure, he wasn't as strong as a Guardian or as big as an Imperial but he was quick; he was cunning. With these newfound abilities he could wreak havoc upon this world and do what he was born to do - serve the Shade!

Of course, everything comes at a price and Mono was no different. Serving the Shade isn't enough, not for what the formerly pink dragon wished for. Not only must he serve the order for an eternity, even after death, but he must find others that are just as loyal as him and recruit them. He must build up the Shade's mortal army. If he is successful then the Shade will give him one last gift - the entire army for him to command!

RELATIONSHIPS

Nyx - a dragon after his own heart. Not only is she a devoted follower of the Shade but she's not entirely 'normal' either. Mono is completely intrigued with her and, after falling so in love with her, would do almost anything for her... perhaps even defy the Shade to protect her... maybe?

Sabori may have been a guard that protected the world from the Shade but, after the darkness took over him, he has become very good at his new role of serving the Shade. Both he and Mono get along quite well and work together perfectly when needed! Even when not planning out the Shade's return they spend small amounts of free time together and love to pick on weaker dragons.

Byte is everything that Mono hates. This dragon may be a distant relative but that doesn't make Mono feel any remorse for him. Byte has the same blood running through him yet he tries to supress the urges and even tips off the Seeker Order about any Shade-Touched... Mono and Byte do not get along at all!

HISTORY

The moment Monochromatic was born the world shuddered. A dangerous alliance had created not one, but three lost souls that were bound to evil and darkness. Monochromatic, Polychromatic, and Achromatic - siblings born with a destiny. A destiny to annihilate Sornieth and hand over the land to the Shade.

When the trio was born the two brothers needed more power. The wanted more power. Thus, once the youngest was born both Mono and Poly siphoned their sister's dragon side from her and left her as a creature more akin to the Shade than an actual dragon... a fate that, ironically, would wind its way to Mono later in his life.

As the three grew they became stronger and colder to the world. Mono was taught by his father to always listen to the Shade and to follow their orders perfectly. This made him a worthy follower early in his life and a very promising servant for when he was older.

Of course, when the time came, he jumped at the opportunity to serve the Shade. This pleased his father a lot yet it seemed to please Mono even more. This was a big leap for him. This made him feel powerful, respected and important... this made him feel like a god!

Though he did lose contact with his siblings after joining the Shade he knows that, one day, he will see them again!

Once his trial was complete and he became everything that he ever wanted Mono left his home in the Wyrmwound and set out to find a new area to make a more permanent base. It was here, in the snowy land of the Icewarden, that he found a clan so diverse that he wouldn't seem like the odd one out.

The leader of the clan welcomed him with open arms once he heard Mono's made-up story of being cursed and in need of a home. He then let every dragon know that he was there just to live his life in peace - that he wasn't a bad dragon and just needed someone to accept him as he was... and they fell for it!

After spending a bit of time in the clan he found out that there were already a few Shade followers dwelling there. Most he got on well with but, once the Gaolers rose from their icy depths, he became a lot more reserved and careful with who he spoke to.

Gaolers were infamous for tracking down Shade-touched and locking them in their frozen prisons and this group was no different. So long as he keeps his head down low and create stories that are believable enough then he should be safe.

It shouldn't be too hard to stay away from those fluffy imbeciles… then again... Locke might be a bit of a problem with his keen eyes.

Of course, I gotta choose Monochromatic in one of these, he's very pretty (Or most people would say creepy), and I really like his lore a lot too!
