Biography
BASCILA
F o x f i r e A l c h e m i s t
Among the thorns of the Foxfire Brambles, Bascila has made an impressive home. A sprawling warren of dens and tunnels, Bascila's Bazaar serves as both the Bogsneak's home and her place of business. There, travelers can find medicines, herbs, magical items, alchemical reagents, and potions, none so powerful as to attract unwanted scrutiny, but nonetheless potent enough to draw a consistent clientele of alchemists and apothecaries. There are many rumors about Bascila herself; some say she was not born a Bogsneak, but changed herself into one to flee a checkered past. Others say she is more than a simple alchemist, but a powerful witch with nefarious designs on the Foxfire Brambles. She is certainly an eccentric character, speaking in a dialect that practically sings with age and referencing events and people that many are sure never existed at all. It's enough to fuel the rumors that swirl about her, though plenty more simply dismiss these behaviors as nothing more than the quirks of an aging mind. Recently, two new denizens have been seen working at Bascila's Bazaar: a quiet Skydancer called Leda and her daughter Nerhys. If asked about them, Bascila will say that she needed a couple of extra hands around the Bazaar. If one asks too many questions about them, Bascila will puff up with indignation and tell the asker that they should be ashamed for hatching designs on a poor solitary mother and her dear daughter. Many assume the pair are distant relatives or old family friends fallen on hard times, while some of the less charitable rumors assert they are thralls to whatever power Bascila wields. |
