"No!" Magnet cried, struggling at the great dragon's hold. Tears sprang to her eyes as the dragon tugged her back, and the Pearlcatcher fell.

"Mother! Father!" The Pearlcatcher saw, with widened horrified eyes, as one of the attacking dragons clawed at her parents. Father shielded Mother with his white wings, the intricate patterns shining in the sunlight. The dragon roared at clawed Father's eyes, then turning around to try and rip Mother's throat. Mother dodged, then without turning back, flew away.


No... "You're mine now, dragon. You're our prisoner."

No, I won't accept it. I won't accept it! "Go away!" Magnet screamed. The runes along her body started to glow.

"Stop, Pearlcatcher."

"Let GO!" The purple runes glowed brighter, and brighter, until it was a blinding purple light. The dragon slightly let go of Magnet, and Magnet turned to face the Ridgeback. She could feel the shadows, the magic, racing up her arms and legs. They were going to burst out.

"What are you doing?!"

And then Magnet's world went dark.

Magnet was found among the dark tress of the Tangled Wood, unconscious and with an eye scar. It seemed to be imprinted on her, a part of her as if it was a birthmark. No one knows how she got it, no one knows where she is from. The Pearlcatcher herself is unsure too, and only left with the memories of her name, the basics of living on Sornieth, and an... unusually advanced recognition of herbs found throughout the land.

She was found by leremiya on one of his many adventures, and he waited for her to wake up. After some questioning he decided it would be better to send her to a Clan. He had said this to DeerHunter before leaving and returning again:

"When I touched her scar, shadows seeped out of her, waving tendrils of darkness almost invisible in the air. Then it gathered into a mass of energy and went back into her again. Immediately I had an enormous headache. Be careful of her."

Magnet was first quarantined and then questioned. When they figured out she had lost her memory and seemed to be useful and friendly, they allowed her to be as one of the Clan. They assigned her as an herb specialist, gatherer, and doctor because of the only memory she had left of her previous life. Magnet has dreams at night of blood, grief, and an explosion. Recurring nightmares that disturbs her sleep, a neverending pain she has to endure until someone can finally solve the mystery of her past. And after the dreams she will always hear a deep voice, echoing:

"The past is only a fragment of our lives. Let's help each other... for the better."
