,,,,,,PERFECTION
,,,,,,,, ,,,,bodyguard-for-hire ,..,,innkeeper Perfection was raised to be two things: fanatically devoted, and immensely magically strong. (She is exactly one of those things.) Her parents, and their parents, and their parents before them, were and are bodyguards loyal to certain rich clans, bound together in generations-spanning contracts. Perfection was taught how to fight, kill, coerce, track, protect, barter, and more, and grew proficient in everything necessary for a dragon of her family. When she reached adulthood, she was assigned a charge. A prince, a snobby brat of an adolescent convinced he was the best of the best merely for gracing Sornieth with his existence. This assignment was not anything like the tales of glory and valour and strength that had been fed to Perfection since the day she was hatched. She was to run about and fetch snacks for the lazy half-grown thing like some common servant!? Her! She who is named Perfection, and embodies the grace, strength, and excellence that such a name entails? What a waste! After exactly a year of running minor errands and barely leaving the clan grounds, Perfection made an appeal to the heads of the clan - only to be told in no uncertain terms that she was to guard the adolescent till either he or she died. Seemingly accepting the will of the clan, Perfection's attitude towards the prince appeared to improve over the following months, and she even offered to teach him to fight, so as to keep up his health and impress future mates. ... No-one could prove that the fatal injury the prince sustained while doing some light sparring was anything more than a tragic accident, but, well, rumours travel fast in the High Courts, and Perfection soon found herself unwelcome in polite company. Her presence preceded by whispers and gossip, Perfection made the wise decision to abscond. She took many fine weapons, cloths, and jewels with her. She now lives a life of adventure and luxury. A different life to what she always thought she'd live, but a fulfilling one nonetheless. She guides rich travellers through places that are distant, dangerous, or both - for a fee, of course, but her protection is well-worth the extortionate price. Perfection mainly collects trinkets and oddities when at home, but also temporarily collects people, dragon and beastclan alike, through running what could best be described as an inn of sorts. (There's technically a bounty on her head, but the few foolish enough to try and collect on it only wish that they had died. Any others who may have thought about being a potential threat very quickly got the message. In several parts.) Perfection is prideful and dangerous - it's a very, very bad idea to anger or offend her. Yet she isn't without a heart. She'll freely shelter anyone who's injured, has lost their way, or has no-where else to go, for as long as is necessary. She'll provide healing for them, point them in the right direction when they're able to leave, give them supplies, even train them to fight if they ask and seem promising. Of course, they'll be in her debt, but... that's a problem for future-them. All are welcome in her domain - innocents, thieves, and killers alike - so long as they understand that her territory is neutral ground, and comport themselves accordingly. But may your deity take mercy upon you should you try to take advantage of her hospitality. She does not demand perfection from others, but she most certainly expects excellence. She likes to think of herself as not a nice person - she's under no illusions there - but as a useful one. |
