Explorer, archeologist, amateur gem miner, occasional geologist— exploring the vast network of caves and vents beneath the volcanic Blacksand is her latest undertaking. The thrill of adventure and discovery is her bread and butter— it’s what she lives for— but she knows there’s more to discovery than adventure. Sometimes, it’s two days spent gently trying to preserve a cave painting, only to find out some local hatchlings thought it would be a funny joke to paint it there when she came into town. Nonetheless, she loves it, and discovering and preserving new knowledge is worth the frustration.

It’s been almost a year since she teamed up with Duchessa, and just over a year since they started dating. Please don’t ask about where that artifact Sherbet was so excited about donating to the museum went. It’s a long-standing point of contention, but sometimes, you just have to pretend you don’t know for your own peace of mind and domestic bliss, okay? She’s fine sleeping on the ground and wearing her exploring gear until it falls apart, but Duchessa has... expensive tastes. And Duchessa is going to afford them, no matter what Sherbet thinks. This is a much better arrangement than the one they used to have, where Duchessa would appear at the dig site all charm and pleasantry, sneak in, and steal finds from her, then book it to the nearest private collector. It’s a work in progress. Just tell her if you notice something missing, and she’ll work it out.

Her old mentor, Spearmint— the best instructor she ever had— stays in her camp with her, now. He had... an incident, on a dig. Found something, he says, though he won’t say what. He hasn’t quite been himself since. Sherbet looks after him, though.
