Burningwind slowly turns her head to look at you; her eyes are glowing bright with flames that whip mercilessly around her face. The edges of her wings appear singed by fire, and her body is fiercely windburnt, as evidenced by her swirling scars.

Burningwind lives at the base of the Great Furnace, right on the edge of the Windswept Plateau. She is one of three dragons that no longer live yet still inhabit the area, these others being Futuresight and Brightspectre.

During life, she was a dragon that studied magical arts, spending years developing potions and spells that could be used to help the other dragons in her small, travelling clan. They spent years exploring the Great Plateau, enjoying the gentle breezes and warmth that came when they passed by the Great Furnace. However, it was there on the border that she lost her life; an ember from the great volcano found its way into a patch of dried grass near her clan, sparking a flame that grew to become enormous and roaring. While most of her clanmates were able to find their way out, Burningwind was asleep, and the flames spread quickly. By the time she awoke, she realized she was trapped in walls of flame. Her wings were singed beyond flight at that point, and she and her tabby, ironically named Embers, passed into the next life.


Even in death, Burningwind has a magical air about her and a sort of emotional stability that few other dragons can muster.
