TEA MAKER—GRUMPY—INDUSTRIOUS

Hoji wakes up every day at dawn with gruff in his voice and aches in his bones. Quite grumpily, he drags his scales to set up shop in his teeny-tiny tea store. Wedged in an alleyway between Taro's fortune-telling parlor and Jessam's perfumery, Hoji's shop is a cluttered space bursting to the brim with jars, herbs, and teacups. His shop is made even more chaotic by the constant flow of traffic spurred by clan members'... well, addiction to tea. Dragons are constantly squeezing themselves into a snaking line down the tight alleyway to replenish their ever-emptying cabinets. Although the guardian should be grateful for their steady business, Hoji is rather disgruntled with the zealous customers he's managed to attract. He murmurs like a crotchety old man any time a dragon knocks a teacup from a shelf or a customer complains that their favorite brew is out of stock. Hoji sometimes joins Coyotito on days when he just simply cannot take it anymore, and he longs daily for the placid lap of waves on the fisherman's docks. These days off are often curses in disguise, however; the next day, customers are more fervent than the last, and Hoji's grouching louder than ever.
