Biography
Velvet knew nothing of loyalty. No matter how much she studied, no matter how hard she tried to learn everything... She was a hybrid, a mistake.
A gaoler failure.
Her lightning blue eyes were nothing like the almost pastel shades of blue for ice dragons. Velvet was from the lightning flight. Something happened to her bloodline, and she'd pay the price.
The dragoness hunched her shoulders in, squeezing her weird eyes shut as she listened to the storm of ice swirl around her. She couldn't endure this— she lived in fear that true-blooded gaolers would swoop in like a raging blizzard, seizing her limbs and throwing her into their prisons the same way they would contain horrible creatures.
Right now, she felt like she WAS a horrible creature. She might as well leave to save her scales, buut at what cost?
Inevitably, Velvet thought about Permafrost, the dragon she recently had eggs with.
A quiet sigh escaped her. Permafrost was an ice dragon through and through, what she would consider a true gaoler. He had the job of being a sentry warden, and was overall a really arrogant dragon with an ego as big as the Icewarden's land.
To her, however, he was the sweetest little thing.
And that was what confused her so badly.
"Velvet!" Bellowed a voice as a dragon burst through the frost-kissed foliage. He let out a weak, choked gasp. "The eggs."
"What about them?" She responded, panic seeping into her tone. The black and grey dragon swirled gracefully, but still had to be careful in order to not impale her snout on the spikes that grew from her body.
The blue gaoler slowly got his breath back together. "They need to be incubated."
"They're back home with Starless. She's taken care of her own batch of five, we don't need to worry."
