Jayde originated from an Amazonian tribe in the Viridian Labyrinth. Beautiful, armed female warriors made up of guardians, mirrors, snappers and wildclaws.
Jayde was, of course, training to be one of such warriors. She had a brilliant way with spears and swords and arrows and darts. Fine eyesight and hunting. Destined to be another powerful warrior, surely.
Yet, she was too fascinated with the treasures and gems and jewels of the world to care much about the life and hunting of the rest of the tribe. She covered it up mostly, just calling it a hobby. However, when on a mission to rescue a powerful nature mage from a camp of explorers - or well, treasure hunters raiding nearby temples led by their hostage. In the final moments of the battle, the dragon killed not just the treasure hunters.
Not just the mage.
But her companions too.
As she smiled wickedly, clutching the beautiful jade in her claws; the one that just a second ago was hidden in the satchel of one of the corpses around her.
Her cold eyes focused on the gemstone. Ignoring the call of her people, the lives she just took, and the burning hunger in her belly and the thirst in her throat.

She carefully wedged the stone between the two beginning spikes on her head - making it seem like she held the 'spines' gene itself.
She felt happy, like this precious deposit of the earth was part of her.
But the hunger grew.
And soon did the spikes down her back. Crystals shining like stars as they stood along her spine.

And still, she wants more.
She wants to add more of the beautiful crystals, until she herself is a living treasure trove.
