Rhoviel's childhood was not spent in the den or tumbling in the fields, as many of the other younglings recalled. Instead, she had taken up an interest in the clockwork creatures that shared the caverns with her. The odd dragon-shaped constructs that served as guards and forge-workers were more than happy to take on a flesh-born creature as their underling. So was born Rhoviel's love of machinery. Many a day and night were spent tinkering away at this bit of wiring or that bit of casing, repairing the mechanical equipment and Familiars of her clan-mates. Rumors came to her ears of more elaborate pieces and trinkets in clans far removed from her own, and curiosity burned in her chest. With the blessings of her teachers, she left her home and set her sights on the great unknown...
