Having once dreamed of being the strongest flier in the Expanse, Tobias is now painfully aware of his breed’s shortcomings. Natural weakness had always been a challenge for him. In his youth, he had a rebellious streak where he’d forgo magic at all costs to prove he could still depend on his wings. As a result, Tobias’ body is one that has experienced numerous injuries.

As a lightning dragon, however, he has technology on his side. With the help of his enhancements he could cross the continent in half the time an average dragon can, let alone a Fae. Tobias now serves as a very speedy courier to fund his projects as well as regular maintenance on the parts he already has.

RELATIONSHIPS

MERCURY
Toby would complain that the matriarch is “working [him] half to death,” but he’d much prefer to save face. That doesn’t mean he hates his role, however; he’s more than happy to be in a position of importance. As long as he’s paid enough to work on his enhancements, he’s fine, even if Mercury sees him as little more than an extra useful messenger.

SPADE
Be it for repairs, materials, or just advice, Spade is Tobias’s go-to guy. He’s become a regular as of late and even considers the Spiral a vital asset. Tobias hasn’t seen under those goggles once, but he’s under the assumption that this is skilled a lightning dragon he’s dealing with.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Uses his left hand as his dominant one. He was originally right-handed, but it suffered too many injuries to function normally.

• His enhancements are actually weaker than most Lightning Flight tech due to his refusal to imbue them with magic.
