shrike possesses an odd and powerful type of magic. it's subtle, with no form of its own. it can only function while bound to an object or living being. she bound herself to it long ago. it's taken the form of ringlets upon her feathers and scales. they shift and flicker in the light. so too, do the things she enchants.

her most common enchantments are for protection- wards against evil, against unwanted watchers, against bad dreams... she sells items bearing these blessings for less than she ought to. if asked about her low prices, she murmurs something about penance and how greed can only bring suffering.
