All Plague dragons are born warriors, and Ivarr is no exception. His parents knew he would be a fighter, yet they never gave him the attention he deserved nor tried to shape his talents. Specifically, because Ivarr was not gifted with the Primal Plague eyes the rest of his kin had, the eyes his clan had so meticulously bred into the clan.

Disgraced, Ivarr would pick fights with every member of his kin. He would bite, claw and pounce on everyone and everything that moved, his parents' disappointment in him making his hatred grow and grow. Soon enough, they grew tired of his offenses. It didn't help that they had suffered many terrible droughts and food shortages in the past. These sufferings caused the members of the clan to believe that Ivarr was a curse, a blight that must be removed immediately. Ivarr—who was only sixteen at the time—was exiled by his own kin.

Ashamed and forced to leave the Scarred Wasteland, he would pick fights with every dragon he encountered during his exile. Whether it was a member of the beastclans or a fellow dragon, Ivarr fought his way through Sornieth, slowly but surely being chased out of every flight there was. He soon became known as the "Mad King of War", something he took great pleasure in.

After nearly a year of this, Ivarr eventually ended up in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, disrupting the peace there as well.

Water clans tried—and failed—to contain him, for he was unparalleled in terms of physical prowess. Although Ivarr didn't kill any dragon (barring a corrupted clan leader he felt the need to get rid of) he was still a threat to the Water clans. Hence, Empress Aislinn sent a group of dragons out to defeat the Mad King. She gathered a party consisting of Salford, Azuolas and Galechka. Excited for a new challenge, Ivarr immediately took up arms against them, without even giving them a chance to explain themselves.

Despite being outnumbered four-to-one, Ivarr managed to defeat Aislinn, Azuolas and even Galechka within minutes. As the only survivor, Salford surrendered, but challenged Ivarr to a duel that full moon. Ivarr agreed, but Salford decided to set terms as well. If Ivarr won, he could leave the territory of the Waves forever, but the Empire would never again interfered with him. However if Salford won... then Ivarr must join the Clan of the Waves. Ivarr agreed, expecting to win the duel easily and the duel would take place at the end of the month.

When the day of the duel arrived, the two warriors entered the fray. The fight was long and hard, with the dragons being stuck in a vicious fight. Despite Salford being bigger and broader than the Wildclaw, he couldn't deal any damage to Ivarr.

After a short time, Salford managed to wear the Wildclaw down and deliver a finishing blow. Ivarr was devastated by the fact that he'd lost, though accepted it. He prepared for the final blow, and was ready to meet his ancestors, but Salford didn't deliver. Instead, Salford told him that he was awed by his fighting skills and would be honored if Ivarr chose to serve the Empire. Though surprised, Ivarr accepted Salford's proposition and promised to fight alongside the Waves for the rest of his life.

When they returned to the clan, all the dragons gathered were quite surprised. The young dragon Abbas was still a little hatchling at the time, and so it was Corrente who was bullying Ivarr. The male Wildclaw however was not distracted by her hatred, ignoring the dragoness.

Aislinn was thrilled to have such a strong dragon in her clan. She felt as though she'd finally proved herself due to her son defeating the Mad King of War.

Ivarr was somewhat out of place in the clan after all this, but still was not going to defy Aislinn. Soon after, he met Tara who was very odd and eccentric. He was originally absolutely terrified by her excitement as she led him around the clan. Soon, he came to love her as a friend and then as a potential partner. Though she was a little surprised at his awkward adorable courting attempts, she accepted his proposal and the two eventually got married. After a while, they had their first clutch which only had one egg: Brynja. That small Imperial was the light of his life, and he promised that no matter what happened, he would protect her with everything in him. He wouldn't fail.
