She uses one of her own beautiful feathers to put on the scales every time she has to judge someone's soul. If the soul is pure, the feather changes into an egg and gives new life to an adorable hatchling. If the soul is tainted, the feather will crumble to dust and never be replaced. Thus there are a limited amount of feathers and rebirths she can accomplish.

When she runs out of feathers, Anubis herself will die and come back as a babe to judge the fallen all over again.
