C O R N E L I A
"This is a WIP" always hungry | troglodyte | former witch Deep within the Seedscar, concealed within the ominous darkness of a damp and secluded cave, resides Cornelia, a former witch of the clan. Once a humanoid figure, she has been transformed into a monstrous, dragon-like creature, the result of a spell gone awry after consuming the flesh of a dragon. Lost in the depths of her own monstrous form, she now dwells alone, devoid of a partner and having forgotten her family. Cornelia's appearance is that of a large, pale Wyvern, shrouded in a flabby, rubbery hide reminiscent of an amphibian. The surface of her skin is so saturated with moisture that it perpetually remains damp, adding to her eerie and unsettling presence. Through her pallid flesh, the intricate network of blood vessels and veins can be discerned, giving her an otherworldly and ethereal aura. Years spent within the bowels of the earth have taken their toll on Cornelia's eyes, causing them to regress and become nearly useless. However, she compensates for this deficiency with an exceptional sense of smell, honed by her prolonged existence in darkness. Like a predator lurking in the shadows, she relies on her olfactory prowess to navigate her surroundings and hunt for sustenance. To survive the harsh conditions of her habitat, Cornelia has developed a layer of insulating fat, serving to retain warmth and prolong her ventures in search of food. Her neck possesses a remarkable capability, able to extend and reach out from a distance, enabling her to seize unsuspecting prey with calculated precision. From the concealment of a cave ceiling, she lies in wait, ready to launch ambushes upon any unfortunate creature that ventures into her lair. A peculiar sect of Wyverns had once inhabited the depths of these caves, enduring the perpetual darkness until it transformed them irrevocably. While subsequent generations suffered a loss of sight, rendering them virtually blind, their sense of smell underwent a dramatic enhancement. Modern descendants of this lineage possess the uncanny ability to perceive what lies deep within the cavernous recesses beyond the entrance. Their pallid complexion exposes veins pulsating beneath the skin, disrupted only by a swollen, crimson sac that stretches from their necks to their undersides. Their formidable jaws, equipped with enormous teeth, effortlessly crush smaller cave-dwelling creatures. Cornelia, however, deviates from her new brethren in a significant manner. Her teeth, once straight and uniform like those of her brothers and sisters in these caves, have been marred by the consumption of prey far larger than typical cave moles. Now crooked and chipped, they serve as testament to her insatiable appetite, requiring her to consume three times the amount of food compared to others of her size. Isolated within her subterranean realm, Cornelia lingers in grim solitude. Although the clan's witches occasionally pay her visits, she regards them with indifference, no longer considering them as friends. In her desolate existence, she finds solace in the aroma of fresh meat, relishing the dankness of her moist cave and the comforting sensation of moss beneath her feet. Yet, her unsettling tranquility is easily disturbed by unexpected sounds that reverberate through the cave walls, their echoes lingering for an uncomfortably long time, eliciting a deep aversion within her. Within the recesses of her cave, Cornelia dwells, an embodiment of darkness and lost kinship. Her former life as a witch is but a distant memory, overshadowed by the insatiable hunger that now drives her very being. Her distorted form and forsaken existence paint a grim portrait within the dark recesses of the Seedscar. |
