Biography

Vocation: Hatchling Minder and AmethystEater Watch
Position/Vocation Within The Hive: TBA
Besties: Frostling
Mate: Glitter would consider AmethystEater his mate, but doesn't know how to vocalize it to her.
Children: Augury (deceased), Ljubica

Glitter was found in the midst of a battlefield, torn nearly to shreds and gasping out something in a nonsensical language with his dying breaths. Panacea, who had laid low up to that point in an attempt to remain a living, breathing Fae was by his side in an instant, forcefully pulling him back from the afterlife and healing his mortal form as best he could while the battle raged around them. Aakesh, who had become a close companion to Panacea, stood guard, not hesitating to attack and demolish any foe who dared come near the two fallen Fae. Once Glitter was at least stable, he had carried the two of them home, far, far away from the horrid battle that, if Aakesh had his way, Panacea would never have had to see. (Panacea, of course, has seen and been caught within many such battles, but he finds it sweet that Aakesh cares.)

Glitter regained consciousness in the healing dens, but when he attempted to speak, no words came out. He was permanently dizzy, constantly flying at dangerous angles and running into walls and other structures, to the point where The Hive began searching out someone who could remain by his side and guide him. Almas was their solution, and she readily agreed to help Glitter as he recovered. When it became clear that he never truly would, she remained undeterred and stayed. His true name is lost, and he gained the name he has now from the Spirals of the clan who, after seeing one of his dizzying flights, could be heard crowing that he glittered like gold.

Glitter was often assigned easier tasks when he first joined the clan, but when he performed those tasks quickly and with near perfection, it soon became clear that his disability did not stop him from participating fully within the clan. Currently he has taken to caring for the hatchlings, as that is where AmethystEater can most often be found.

Attempts to teach Glitter any form of language have resulted in him retaining a few basic words, and nothing else. The Coatls even managed to teach him a humming note or two, but nothing they tried beyond that stuck. Instead he communicates mostly with sounds or gestures, which The Hive have picked up and learned with diligence, and other dragons have at least taken note of.

---

I remember the touch of death. I remember hearing Her constant, unbearable call, demanding my soul to join her great army. I was meant to die, meant to fight, but I was rescued from Her clutches by the healer, Panacea. He is tired often, overworking himself to an unhealthy degree. Aakesh, at least, has noticed. I have to trust that he will take care of him. There are not many here, who have felt death as I have. One here, however, has come back from The War, a Bogsneak called Frostling. She often sleeps, but...perhaps she will wake and speak to me. I often see the Gladekeeper's presence near her...just as it was near Amethyst. She cannot have them.

...

It is hard, not being able to speak my thoughts. Instead they rattle around my brain, tugging at me and pulling me away for hours at a time. But...

"Glitter?"

Ah. The young one.

"Will you come and show us how to pounce again?"

I would love to teach you.

The hatchling, Derya, smiles and takes Glitter's hand as he squeaks in response. "We can find AmethystEater once we're done, right?" At his second affirmative squeak, the young hatchling spins in the air, looking absolutely thrilled. "Let's go!"
