Endlessly patient, Sandstone spends much of her time with her mate, Phyll, helping him with his magic. She's always the first (and only) dragon to volunteer as a test subject, as she knows he can undo any damage... Most of the time.

Her antlers are a result of Phyll dabbing in Animal Magic, spells intended to change a living creature in some way, which is banned by Clan laws. An enchantment went awry, the magic bouncing off of a stone figurine of a deer, hitting Sandstone in the chest. She rapidly transformed into a huge stag, with bright yellow splotches on her sides, and magnificent golden antlers.

After a lot of trial and error, Phyll managed to return her to normal. Mostly. As the magic drained away, the markings and antlers remained, though they paled considerably. Runes now decorated her wingtips, a protective spell of Phyll's designed to prevent such a transformation from happening again.

Though Sandstone was unharmed by the ordeal, Phyll was still panicked. The antlers would be a give giveawat that he was still practising banned magic, and he fearing being exalted for his crimes. Luckily, Sandstone covered for him. She told the other dragons that she'd angered a magic-practising dragon from a nearby Clan, and they'd cursed her with antlers as revenge.

Now the two steer well clear of Animal Magic, and only practise magic they know they can handle.
