One afternoon you were browsing the Auction House, when you noticed a nice-looking (and cheap) Spiral. He seemed perfect for that fandragon you wanted for an OC, so you bought him and gave him a few snippets of lore, including its preferred pronouns, aka, it/its.

Once it grew up, though, you noticed something off about this dragon, whom you had named Selris. The trademark Spiral grin seemed to be stretched wider than usual, making it more unsettling than you were used to. You figured you were just seeing things and messed with Selris' apparel some, before you decided to keep it simple with a Black-and-White Flair Scarf.




Looks good enough, You thought, and logged off Flight Rising.

You came back a few hours later to find Selris moved from the Misc/Fodder tab to your first tab, second page. Upon trying to move it back, an error message popped up and kicked you out of Settings.

Strange. You checked Selris' bio to see something you hadn't written before.


You immediately closed the tab, shivering a bit at the eerie message. Maybe someone had hacked your account? No, they would've done more than move a random dragon and leave a weird message in a its bio.

No, this was something else. You logged off again, having had enough of the site for the time being.

The next morning, when you checked Flight Rising, several interesting things happened. First, you somehow got one of those Pink Mums from gathering, along with an elemental runestone, then Pinkerton gave you an Ambush. For some reason, his sprite seemed to be more frightened than usual, hunched over his crate with his wings raised, but it was subtle enough that you didn't notice at first glance.

Maybe the admins had changed it to foreshadow a future update? Sounded interesting, but you didn't understand why they would make the sprite look scared.

Then you remembered Selris, and went to check its bio again. This time, there was another message;


So that explained Pinkerton's expression. You considered saying something about it in the forums, but figured it wouldn't be taken seriously.

The page refreshed suddenly, and another message popped up.


You decided it would be better to keep this quiet for now.
