B I O G R A P H Y

Iavu wasn’t a typical plague flight hatchling when he was born. Usually any children born under the wings of the Plaugebringer would attack their siblings in a desperate grab for dominance. This wasn’t the case for the youngling. In fact, he would rather watch from a distance rather than be attacked upfront. He used his long, thin, body to hide in the brush near his nest to attack from the shadows and grab food without anyone noticing. This of course was displeasing to his parents and to his peers, especially the Plaugebringer. The goddess, angry that one of her children was acting unlike herself, refused to allow his parents to give him a name other than “Weakling”.

This distaste led to terrible fortune for his family, which forced them all to flee to the lower parts of The Abiding Boneyard. There, both of Iavu’s parents forced him to fight head on with his nest mates in a desperate attempt to regain the favor of their goddess. They themselves even attacked their child to try and make him less of a scavenger and more of a warrior.This led to a very undernourished, very beaten fledgling with a hatred in his heart for the Plague flight.Finally having enough after a particularly brutal "training session", the weakling stole what little food and treasure their family had and left the Scarred Wasteland forever

Iavu wandered for a long time, slowly growing weaker and weaker as his food sources depleted before he finally collapsed at the foot of Driftwood Drag in the Tangled Wood. There, he was found and brought in by Dagoa, the leader of what was a small clan of four dragons under the watchful eye of Shadowbinder. The shadow goddess, finding potential in this small plague dragon, happily allowed Dagoa to keep him in their small clan so long as he never changed his ways. There he was finally given his name, Iavu. Under the caring wings of his adoptive mother, Iavu changed his appearance to be that of a Shadow flight dragon and has never looked back since.

_Other Stories_

____Iavu really isn’t one for violence due to his childhood, but unfortunately that’s what tends to find him. He remembers vividly of a day where he was just minding his own business and a dragon from the nature flight attacked him. Granted, they attacked thinking that he was a different dragon, but the fact that it still happened is both funny and annoying to the Spiral.

____People tend to misjudge him a lot due to his size and his species. Spirals aren’t usually the first thing that you would see when spotted in an enemy flight territory. But Iavu was never really one for sticking to stereotypes anyway. So with that being said, you’ll probably find this dragon digging around in the nature flight or the light flight often searching for discarded eggs.

_Relationships_

____When it comes to the fifty four (and counting) dragons that he lives with, he has issues with barely anyone there. Granted, the nature dragons that have found refuge here are extremely wary of him, but that’s as far as it goes when it comes to hatred. However, there is one plague dragon that seems to love trying to get the spiral to fight with him. This small fae name Nevras never seems to keep himself busy enough to stop trying to antagonize Iavu. Thankfully, the Spiral is too level headed to deal with Nev, but eventually that calm runs out from time to time when he gets a blast of magic to the face out of nowhere. Dagoa and Osu tend to deal with the both of them sternly if these spats happen too close to the nests

____But with some rivalries, comes close companionships as well. Iavu gets along with his adoptive mother the most, but has a particularly...heated relationship with Ambra, the gifted guardian that protects the Eastern Nests. They have parented several clutches of eggs together in their lifetime, and have been caught on several occasions saying that they would die for the other in a heartbeat. No one can seem to figure out if they’re mates, but they certainly act like it from time to time.
