Karou is the first of Wave and Cupido's offspring to stay in the same lair with her parents. She is happy with her choice mostly...but misses her hatch brother, Loki. Sometimes she wishes she had gone with him on the night that he left. She just cannot forget the disappointment in her brother's eyes when she had refused to go with him. She had hoped he would be back soon or perhaps if she didn't go, he would decide to stay. But he had gone. He had flown away without even looking back!
She started to panic and wanted to fly after him. But how could she just leave her parents? They would be devastated if their hatchlings were both to disappear in the night.
As she got older, she would go looking for her brother, but has had no luck finding him. He must have left the land of the Gladekeeper completely, which means he could be anywhere. She still struggled with why he had gone? Had he been so unhappy? But they had had so much fun together - just thinking of their days splashing in the shallows and diving in the deeps made her heart ache. No, he had definitely loved his family and enjoyed their time together.
Then, did he wish for adventure? She had always been the more adventurous one though. Perhaps there had been something specific pulling him. Some dragons say they can feel their destinies leading them on, sometimes not all that willingly. And if she thought back to that night, there had been a certainty in Loki's eyes. He had needed to go; Karou just hadn't seen it then. She hoped he had found whatever it was that had dragged him away from her. And who knows, maybe one day they would meet again.

After a long lonely time in which Karou had become a young adult already, she received word from Loki! She couldn't believe it and immediately rushed to her parents with the letter. He was alive and he was happy with a mate So something had been pulling him then! But what was more, he had found their long lost sister Omi. Her parents teared up a bit at the name but never stopped smiling :) Both their hatchlings were doing well and they had even more grandhatchlings than they thought :P They all definitely had to meet but Wave and Cupido had just had a nest of three beautiful girls - Emi, Lavy and Gloom. The little ones had helped Karou to feel less alone and there was always work to be done to entertain so many eager minds. Karou tried to spend time with all of them and told them stories about her brother, well all of their brother technically. She ended up spending more time with Gloom bonding over their shared love of storms and rough weather . Her father would take Emi and teach her of all the plant life around them . And her mother would take little Lavy and teach her how to fight like a lady

Letter:
Dear Loki,
I can't believe you're alive! What took you so long to write a letter? A whole month and now you finally write! I am happy to hear from you :P You've missed so much and it seems so did I. I definitely need to meet this mate of yours! We would all come to visit you right now, but mom and dad have 3 new hatchlings.. again. I swear were up to our flight feathers in little girls - you have 3 new little sisters btw ;) Maybe you and Yui could come visit us? Or I could maybe come alone, though I believe Gloom will follow me, the little rascal. Oh yeah I should add their names are Gloom, Lavy and Emi and they are all very exited to be meeting their brother and long lost sister. It seems you'll never be able to run out of sisters
