The first. He founded the clan (and subsequent cult) in an alcove beside the Wyrmwound, with his mate, Rachel. Besotted with his wife, and not exactly the brightest, this superbly strong Pearlcatcher is devoted to his clan, his children, and his admittedly futile pursuit of further power. His wife controls him, and he is okay with that, in his infatuation with her. His keel gene mutation came from his baptism in the Wyrmwound. He is Rachel's first and highest ranking mate. Despite his somewhat dim personality, he is far from emotionally absent in the way his mate is, at least in the lives of their hatchlings. Weekly meals he takes in his chambers with Zanhorn, where the two discuss clan politics and alchemy, a subject both admire and seek to understand. He speaks rudimentary Serthis, taught to him (with no small amount of frustration) by Rachel, and his staff of servants is exclusively Serthis in species, all captured in various conflicts. Raphael fawns over his wife like she is his everything. And she is. So well has she ingratiated herself into his good graces, he takes the lead in her harem as the head husband. He does not mate with anyone except Rachel, and tends to her every whim, dropping everything at a moment's notice to be by her side. He really likes stars, the little metal ones on his Nebula Silks, which he collects and sews onto his clothing. It's almost as if he is addicted to her presence...
