Biography
The long-lost brother of Phaerrim. Has been enslaved at the Winter court. Many years ago, before the war, the Winter court wanted to take one of a pair of twins- Phaerrim and Iliad- so as to balance the scales and keep the peace. However, Iliad was the more powerful of the two and knowing this, he blinded himself to keep them equal and not worth fighting over. He also volunteered to go to the Winter court so his brother wouldn't be forced to leave their homeland. Ekrem, mad that she didn't get a leg up on the Summer court like she wanted, took her anger out on Iliad. He now serves as the Deathsinger, the one responsible for taking care of the dead after battle. Understandably, he has battle fatigue something fierce.
He doesn't know his brother is mute and while he misses him, he believes Phaerimm to be happy in the Summer court. Iliad is sort of friends with August and shares his disgust for battle, going so far as to keep it a secret that he is selling Winter court secrets to the Summer court. Iliad doesn't talk much so their relationship is mostly built on amicable silences and shared secrets and intimate moments.
